Super Bowl goes Political

The Super Bowl is said to be the most celebrated day in the United States and it is not even a holiday. The stores are selling out of all of our favorite snacks and treats. More people will gather together to eat, drink and be festive than on any other day of the year. It is also a great day for watching the best commercial offerings of the year and at 3 million dollars a pop for a thirty second spot they better be good.

This year the big buzz is all about the Focus On The Family commercial. For the last two weeks if you were to do a Google search for the Florida All-Star Quarterback, Tim Tebow, you would get several pages of hits about the controversial commercial. Without ever being shown or before anyone of us lays an eye on it the commercial has gained national attention. I have not seen it either but have read that it features Tim Tebow and his mother. Apparently it is a very powerful pro-life message and that is why over 30 organizations have protested its airing.

Before I get in the middle of a liberal bashing rant, let's see what the dictionary has to say about these pin heads. The dictionary says of liberal; “favoring freedom of actions, open minded, tolerant, generous and in favor of maximum individual freedom secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.” Sounds pretty good, right? What’s not to like here? Perhaps the folks that I dislike intensely have been mislabeled. Are they Leftists? Marxist? Socialist? You think? Oh, yes, I got it now, Progressives. Now don't that sound better?

Let’s look at the behavior of these lost souls. They campaign, protest and lobby for tolerance of their beliefs and life-styles while working equally hard to destroy the life-style and belief system of those with which they disagree. For example:

• Removal of all references to a supreme deity from any public place. The “liberals” have been successful in making it almost impossible to celebrate Christmas without censure in the name of not offending non-Christians while at the same time have made it possible for all forms of deviant behavior to parade before the public.

• While claiming to be open minded, the “liberal” will reject and attempt to prohibit any and all expression of thought that is not part of their liberal ideology. They have made it possible for one to open an adult book store (porn store) within sight of a church or school but if anyone protests, they are in danger of being prosecuted for hate speech.

• Freedom of religion has been perverted into freedom from religion. No prayer in school, that is no Judeao Christian prayer to be exact. Special accommodations are made for the frequent daily prayers of the followers of Islam.

• I have often wondered how the liberals could justify and reconcile killing a baby as it was being born in the afternoon and then stand outside a prison all night for a candle light vigil to protest the execution of a convicted and admitted murderer. I now think I understand, they identify and relate to the murderer, they are kindred spirits. That was too easy. How could I have missed something that obvious?

My God, why can’t they see the results of their defective belief system and ill-conceived actions? Have they not been exposed to the history of the world? They do not seem to have the faintest understanding of natural law. They appear completely ignorant to the realities of cause and effect and seem to blatantly ignore the fact that ALL actions have consequences. If they could only be made to see the unintended consequences in all of these liberal actions. But that would require developing a manner of living that demanded rigorous honesty, a vital character attribute which they all seem to be lacking.

If I am asked if I am Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, I must confess that I am both. I am definitely for life but I resent being told that I don't have a choice about my own life. The nature of liberty is having the freedom to fail and to succeeded, to make good choices as well as bad ones. Hats off to the network for allowing the commercial to be shown. The first amendment to the Constitution is for everyone, even those with whom you disagree.

Oh, by the way, there will be a really Super Football game on Sunday. Enjoy, eat hearty and enjoy the company of your friends.

Obama's desire to repeal "Don't ask, don't tell" can actually help to fulfill the "days of Lot" (Luke 17, cf. Gen. 19), the fulfillment of which will hurry up the return of the Heavenly Commander-in-Chief who will make all things straight (pun intended)! Interesting Google articles include "Obama Supports Public Depravity," "Separation of Raunch and State" and "David Letterman's Hate Etc."
For some dessert visit Yahoo and type in "Obama Avoids Bible Verses."
PS - You're invited to use these new pro-life slogans: "Unborn babies should have the right to keep and bear arms - and legs and ears and eyes etc.!" and "Unborn babies should have the same right to be born alive that abortionists had!"
