"Seniors"
Forget about getting to age 75, this exact thing happened to me this morning at Danbury hospital here in Ct. I was scheduled for a cardio-lite stress test. This is a tread mill stress test where during the process they inject nuclear dye into your blood stream and then put you in a CAT scan or something similar and take a picture of your heart. If all is good the heart shows up red, if there are blocked arteries anywhere that portion of the heart shows up pink. I have had three of these tests in the past twelve years due to blocked arteries discovered in 2000. They use the test to determine if I need a roto router or a bypass operation.
So I arrive at the hospital at 8 am this morning and I am in the process of checking in at Cardiology and the lady says that my appointment has been canceled. She makes a call and speaks with someone and hands me the phone. It is a nurse in cardiology who says that my medical coverage denied the procedure. I said it was routine, part of my heart maintenance process and ordered by my PCP and with approval from my Cardiologist who is the head of Danbury Cardiology which is right where I was standing. She goes, "yes but we were denied our request". So I say, I have Medicare so what is my backup insurance doing denying anything. Then the bombshell, she says it was the Medicare board that denied the procedure.
At that point, I turn to everyone behind me, and it was a long line, and I say to them "well you won't have to wait too long today because my stress test procedure was just canceled by a Medicare Death Panel. I am only 67 so can you imagine what is going to happen when we really get old". The entire waiting room and everyone there from patients to staff just went dead silent. So I turn to the front desk and tell them, " I guess I will have to write a letter to the editor of the Danbury News Times and call my Senators and Congressman and let them know the Death Panels have already convened". Then I walked out.
By the time I got home the message machine was blinking. My PCP had already called and so did the hospital and guess what, Medicare decided to approve my stress test procedure and if I could get back down to the hospital they would fit me in right now for this 3 hour procedure. I told them I couldn't make it, that I was going fishing because I didn't know how many more fishing trips I could get in before I went into cardiac arrest but not to worry about me costing the government any money because I am a 30% disabled Army veteran, due to Agent Orange poisoning which is what caused this heart problem to begin with, and I qualify to be buried for free in a plain pine wrapper in the cheap graves section at any National Cemetery. I certainly don't want to cost our government any money so maybe we just won't do this procedure anymore and we can use the money to redistribute it to all of the Illegals to keep them alive so they can mow the lawns at the National Cemeteries.
So this Death Panel crap has started. If we don't vote this guy and his criminal cronies out of office this November then we will all die younger than we should as broke paupers as the country goes bankrupt. Feel free to distribute my note to anyone and make it a mission to not only make your vote count but on behalf of all of us please make an effort to change the thinking of anyone remotely willingly to get intellectually engaged in this critical time in our country's history.
*WELL ISN’T THIS SOME SPECIAL NEWS _GRANDMA AND PAPA_!!!*
*I had one of the most troubling, most disturbing conversations ever with Dr. Suzanne Allen, head of emergency services at the Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee . We were discussing the "future" and I asked her had she seen any affects of Obama Care **in her work?
"Oh, yes. We are seeing cutbacks throughout the services we provide. For example, we are now having to deal with patients who would normally receive dialysis can no longer be accepted. In the past, there was always automatic approval under Medicare for anyone who needed dialysis -- not anymore." So, what will be their outcome? "They will die soon without dialysis," she stated.
What about other services? She indicated as of 2013 (after the election), no one over 75 will be given major medical procedures unless approved by locally administered Ethics Panels. These Panels will determine whether a patient receives medical treatment or not. While details on specific operating procedures and schedules, Dr.
Allen points out that most life-threatening emergencies do not occur during normal hospital business hours, and if there are emergencies that depend to be resolve within minutes or just few hours, the likely hood of getting these Panels approval in time to save a life are going to be very challenging and difficult, if not impossible she said.
This applies to major operations such as receiving stents, bypass surgery, kidney operations, or treating for an aneurysm that would be normally covered under Medicare today.
In other words, if you needed a life-saving operation, Medicare will not provide coverage anymore after 2013 if you are 75 or over. When in 2013? "We haven't been given a specific date -- could be in January or July....but it's after the election."
This is shocking to any of us who will be 75 this year. Her advice -- get healthy and stay healthy. We do not know the specifics of the actual implementation of the full Obama Care policies and procedures -- "they haven't filtered down to the local level yet. But we are already seeing severe cuts in what we provide to the elderly -- we refused dialysis to an individual who was 78 just the other day....we refused to give stents to a gentleman who was in his late 80s." Every day, she said, we are seeing these cutbacks aimed at reducing care across the board for anyone who is over 75.
We can only hope that Obama Care will be overturned by the Supreme Court -- otherwise, this is a death sentence to those who are over 75....perhaps you should pass this on to your friends who are thinking of voting for Obama this year.
Regardless if you have private health care coverage now (I have Aetna Medicare Part B) -- it will no longer apply after 2013 if the Ethics Panels disapprove of a procedure that may save your life.*
*Scary, scary, scary. Think about this? You? Your parents? Your loved ones?
Didn't know about it? Of course, not. As Nancy Pelosi said...."well, if you want to know what's in the bill, you'll have to read it....." _After_ it was passed.
This is a graphic reminder of the need to stay healthy. Get your plot now at Forest Lawn....while they last. Is this a death sentence to those of us who will reach 75?.....Yes!*Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6900734511232289961.post-29809825389451232312012-06-06T16:55:00.001-05:002012-06-06T16:55:37.651-05:00 Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6900734511232289961.post-9230028283454014132012-05-24T14:35:00.003-05:002012-05-24T14:35:44.114-05:00

How often have we voted for a candidate just because of the name at the top of the ballot only to be sadly disappointed in their performance in office? Have you ever noticed that no matter which party is in power, our government stays fundamentally the same. Our nation is going down the same failed path of much of Europe and our leaders continue to spend money we don't have. Our great-grand children will never see a debt free day.

The two Party system has become a farce. Neither party remotely resembles the party of a few decades ago. Both parties have been hijacked by powerful forces that seek power and control.

The GOP, while professing to uphold the Republic, is committed to mercantilism, or more bluntly, the stiffening of free trade by picking winners and losers and the Democrat party, behind a mask of progressivism is the sharp reality of Marxist socialism. Both ideologies are geared to gaining more political power and leaving We the People with less and less liberty to live our lives as we so choose.

A great working definition for insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We need to ask ourselves a few questions; "Would I really blindly vote for a yellow dog just because Grandpa would?"

In the next election, the stakes for our state and for our nation are higher than ever before. It will be critically important that we vote intelligently. We need to put family political history aside and do our own homework and find out what principles each candidates values.

It should be quite simple, do they represent more or less regulations and taxes? Will they head us down the road to slavery or help to restore the Liberty that our grandfathers fought and died for?
Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6900734511232289961.post-21586741155127106782012-02-22T08:40:00.000-06:002012-02-22T08:40:35.354-06:00Left-Right Paradigm Is A Hoax

Today, “conservatives” in government are doing as much to promote Big Government, as are “liberals.” In fact, if one were to honestly evaluate the twelve years of the George Herbert Walker Bush and G.W. Bush administrations, one could say that “conservatives” even eclipse “liberals” in promoting Big Government. Under the two Bushes, the federal government expanded (and even exploded) to levels that for-real liberal Democrats could only dream about.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Let’s get realistic. Just because a politico says he or she is “pro-life,” or “pro-family,” or “pro-marriage,” etc., does not mean that they are going to do anything to help save the country. Come on, folks; think! “Conservative” Republican administration appointments have dominated the US Supreme Court since the infamous Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions that effectively legalized abortion-on-demand. And we are no closer to overturning Roe and Doe after almost forty years of electing “pro-life conservatives” than we were the year after the Roe and Doe decisions were rendered. And for the first six years of the 21st Century, “conservative” Republicans dominated the entire federal government, and still the Roe and Doe decisions stand.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">And when it comes to marriage and family, there is not a darn thing that Washington, D.C., can do to “save” it. Washington can no more “save” the family than it can “create” jobs! Washington is not God–the attitudes of most Washington politicians and national newscasters notwithstanding.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Herein lies the real problem: both “conservatives” and “liberals” expect Washington, D.C., to be the panacea for all the nation’s ills. Oh, the left and right come to Washington expecting different solutions, but they both come to Washington, D.C., for the solution. Both “conservatives” and “liberals” expect the federal government to “fix” America. But, in this regard, Ronald Reagan spoke with great profundity when he said, “Government [especially the federal government] is not the solution to our problem; government [especially the federal government] IS the problem!” <span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Hear President Reagan’s quote

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Both “conservatives” and “liberals” look to the federal government to establish and enforce their parochial agendas. “Liberals” look to Washington for the establishment of “social justice,” while “conservatives” look to Washington for the establishment of “military justice.” The net result is the federal government keeps getting bigger and bigger regardless of who controls the White House, Congress, or Supreme Court.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">“Conservatives,” whether Christian or not, are just as culpable in the expansion of Big Government as are “liberals.” In fact, when it comes to the expansion of military adventurism, “conservatives” are the most culpable. And when it comes to the ever-burgeoning police state that is currently taking shape in the United States, “liberals” and “conservatives” are equally to blame. Let’s face it: both “conservatives” and “liberals” are in the midst of an intense and illicit love affair with Washington, D.C.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">The way many “conservatives” have embraced the candidacy of Rick Santorum is a prime example of how skewed their understanding of historic, constitutional principles really is. Santorum goes around talking about “pro-life” and “pro-family” issues, while his voting record in the US Senate demonstrates that he is just another conservative-talking, big-spending politician. He has voted for so many Big-Government bills and endorsed so many Big-Government toadies that it is incredible that anyone could refrain from laughing out loud when he calls himself a “conservative.”

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">To check the factual record of Senator Rick Santorum.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">By the same token, it is absolutely incredible that “conservatives,” especially Christian “conservatives,” could so quickly and firmly reject the candidacy of the man who most likely is going to go down in history as the greatest congressman to ever sit in the US House of Representatives, Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Patrick Henry was probably the greatest governor that the United States has ever seen; and Daniel Webster was probably the greatest senator that the country has ever seen; and I am personally convinced that history will regard Congressman Ron Paul as our greatest US House member. For his entire political career, Congressman Paul has stood like a rock for the fundamental principles of liberty and constitutionalism, and, yet, many “conservatives” reject his Presidential candidacy. They would rather support Big-Government toadies like Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, or Mitt Romney. Egad!

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Have people not wondered why the direction of the country has not changed one iota regardless if “conservatives” or “liberals” are running things? One would think that at some point people would wake up to the fact that until we start electing civil magistrates who take their oaths to the Constitution seriously, and who truly understand the nature of our federalist form of government, and who are truly committed to the preservation of the Bill of Rights, and who truly understand and appreciate the jurisdiction and authority of the states, nothing is going to change in this country. Nothing! And in 2012, there is only one man in the Presidential field who has an intellectual grasp and moral commitment to all of the above: Ron Paul. I will say it yet again: it will not matter to a tinker’s dam if anyone other than Ron Paul is elected President in 2012.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Furthermore, if Americans do not wake up to the importance of electing State governors, attorney generals, senators, legislators, and county sheriffs who understand that their primary responsibility as a State office holder is to safeguard the rights and liberties of the citizens of their respective states FROM THE USURPATION AND OVERREACH OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, our liberties are lost–no matter how many “conservatives” we elect!

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Ladies and gentlemen, face it: the left-right paradigm is a hoax! It creates false conflicts and masks true problems. It caters to the increase of socialism on the one hand and fascism and corporatism on the other hand. It saps our strengths and augments our weaknesses. It blinds our eyes to the warning clouds above us and deafens our ears to the sounds of the sirens around us. It turns friends into adversaries and adversaries into friends. It dulls our senses and sharpens our illusions. It removes true courage and gives false hope. It sullies our character and shines our betrayal, and it puts shackles around our feet and greases the skids of oppression.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Instead of worrying about whether one professes to be a “conservative” or a “liberal,” we should be concerned about whether the people we vote for understand the fundamental principles of liberty and constitutional government and have the moral character to defend such principles at all costs. When Bob and I announced my candidacy for Lieutenant Governor here in Kalispell, I said, ‘We are in this race to win.’ I realized then that, in order to be competitive, there were certain criteria that had to be met. I knew our campaign had to raise a sizeable sum of money; and knew that we had to put together a quality campaign organization. Since making our announcement back in November, this campaign has accomplished neither task. Therefore, it is more than obvious to me that this campaign has no chance of being successful in the primary elections. And I have too much respect for the people of Montana than to ask them to support a candidacy that cannot at least be competitive. People who believe in a political campaign enough to invest their time and hard-earned money in it have a right to expect that the candidates they support can deliver a successful campaign.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">“I believe that my departure from the Governor/Lieutenant Governor race will allow me to continue to pursue whatever opportunities the people of Montana would believe were best suited for those abilities and attributes that I may have in our mutual pursuance of liberty and constitutional government.
I believe that one of the main reasons our country is in the sad sorry state that it is in today is because of a state run education system that is committed to the "Dumbing Down" of America. A very dear friend sent me a prayer for fathers that he found online. It was written by Thom Rainer, president and CEO of LifeWay Christian Resources. Dr. Rainer had been impressed by a prayer written by General Douglas MacArthur, throughout which he repeated the phrase, "give me a son." Dr. Rainer realized that he needed to become a godly father before he could ask for godly sons. So he rewrote Gen. MacArthur's prayer, substituting "make me the father" for "give me a son." Here is the result:

"Make me the father, O Lord, who will show my sons the strengt face weakness; the courage to face fear; the grace to accept honest defeat; and the humility and gentleness to accept victory. Make me the father who will show his sons not a path of ease and comfort, but the ability to accept the challenges of stress and difficulty. Use me, I pray, to be the example of one who can stand up in the storm, and there learn compassion for those who fail.

Make me the father who will teach his sons the value of a clear heart and a high goal; to look in the mirror of their own faults before they find fault in others; to learn to laugh, yet never forget how to cry; to reach into the future without ever forgetting the past.

Make me the father, O Lord, who will show my sons enough of a sense of humor, so that they will always be serious, but never take themselves too seriously. Give them humility, so they will always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.

And after all these things are theirs, add for me, I pray, the wisdom to show them the dubious values of titles, positions, money, and material gain; and the eternal value of prayer, the Holy Bible, a Christian home, and a saving relationship with Your Son Jesus Christ.

Then I, their father, will dare to whisper, "I have not lived in vain."Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6900734511232289961.post-85669848980420063652012-02-19T09:08:00.000-06:002012-02-19T09:08:24.486-06:00Make Me the father, O LordYesterday I received a remarkable email. He was a socialist product of the 19th Century. He engineered the transition from the one room schoolhouses to the “public fool system” we see today. He is largely responsible for the moral decay that led to America’s plunge into the depths of oppression, debauchery, and destruction. He did not teach logic or reasoning skills. Why?

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">“You can’t make socialists out of individualists,” Dewey stated. “Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming, where everyone is interdependent.” (1.) Dewey was a Rockefeller protégé born in 1859. He set the stage for the fall of the American people in the banker driven national socialist Union consolidation after the War Between The States.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Dewey built his legacy on conforming the individual to the society as defined by state interests, presuming man was created for government, rather than vice versa. Dewey is quoted saying “There is no God and there is no soul. Hence, there are no needs for the props of traditional religion. With dogma and creed excluded, then immutable truth is also dead and buried. There is no room for fixed, natural law or moral absolutes.” (2.) Dewey did not teach “right or wrong”, but he taught teachers Darwin and Marx!

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Dewey kicked into gear the concept of tailoring indoctrination to the needs of industrialists luring people away from independent farm life into the industrial slums where they might be dispossessed and made dependent. Factory workers, waitresses and stock boys did not need much education, and critical thinking skills were not in the robber barons’ interests! Americans gave up their productive agrarian lifestyles to become consumers mobilized by Henry Ford and fueled by Rockefeller. Debt came into style with the Federal Reserve Bank in 1913, The Creature From Jekyll Island, as G. Courtrooms have become venues of subversion, with judges’ deceitful instructions to juries and confusing legal terms with plain English to defraud the ignorant souls before the bench. Judges not only fail to mention the US Constitution has been suspended since 1932, but insist that juries must only determine if the defendant violated the letter of the law as narrowly defined by the state’s judge and prosecutor. This is part and parcel of the modern doctrine of “Legal Positivism”, the belief that the state is the supreme authority for creating, interpreting, and enforcing the law. .. declaring all legal truth is decided by the state.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">This new legal paradigm was established after the Civil War when Harvard’s new president, Eliot, in 1870, named Christopher Langdell as Dean of the Harvard Law School, the flagship of American jurisprudence. He “believed that man did not need the aid of God and of the Holy Scriptures….Langdell sought to eliminate both from legal education – not by default, but by design. He along with president Eliot, had embraced the new faith that swept the academic world in the latter 1800’s – that Darwin’s theory of evolution was the key to all of life, including the law.” (5.) This was a huge leap away from Blackstone’s legal precepts that America’s patriot founders held.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">The state often prevents presentation of evidence favorable to defendants, even when prosecutors know the accused are innocent! The state, and it’s laws, must never be questioned. They do not tell us, as did John Jay, 1st Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, in 1789, that “The jury has a right to judge both the law as well as the fact in controversy.” This was upheld again in 1902 by Justice Oliver Wendell Homes and in 1941 by Chief Justice Harlan F. Stone. “The pages of history shine on instances of the jury’s exercise of its prerogative to disregard instructions of the judge…” as stated in U.S. vs. Dougherty. Recall how jurors are selected and instructed these days. Just reading a Fully Informed Jury Association pamphlet will disqualify a juror from service.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">FIJA notes “The only a power the judge has over the jury is their ignorance!” The state’s interests prevail, not the rights of the people the state was to hold as being unalienable, which shall not be infringed. Be sure to check your brain at the door, empty your pockets and pass through the scanner upon entering the halls of “justice”! I trust Noah Webster. Some say that term Jefferson used declaring our God-given rights means inseparable, and others say it means no lien may be laid against those rights. In reality, both apply, as the first speaks of inseparability, and the latter addresses forbidding a means of separation.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Marxists intend to separate us from our rights, and have already placed liens against us through Social Security, birth certificates and such. It is the old divide and conquer strategy in education. God is holy, which implies wholeness in every compartment, or space, or “hole”, in pure reality. All real things have more than one facet by which to relate with other real things, with different shades of meaning, or variable dynamics, in each facet. Our linear thought processes, in a fashion similar to the way a prism divides the spectrum of light from a ray passing through , follow only one definitive thought or object at a time and miss the whole context of the greater spectrum unified and specified in considering all the definitions of a word in a logical progression. Tyrants prefer we not see certain facets or the dynamics of hidden relationships. They like to blindside us and focus our attention. Following the branches of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is dividing us in the diverse chambers of artificial precepts and leading us to eat the fruits of evil. He posed, “If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, is it not possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing about it?” His answer: “The recent practice of propaganda has proved it is possible, at least up to a certain point and within certain limits.” Where is your limit? Beyond that, anyone that identified themselves as being pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, anti-Federal Reserve, Christians who believe in the return of Christ, and even returning Iraq War veterans were likewise targeted as potentially dangerous to Missouri State law enforcement personnel.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">After the MIAC report surfaced, Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and I sent a letter to the governor of Missouri demanding that the report be removed and that the State of Missouri repudiate the report. Once a group or groups of people had been sufficiently marginalized, it wasn't long before public condemnation and then military retaliation took place. Legislation such as the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, the NDAA, and now the EEA authorize military power to be used against US citizens, and given the propensity of government propagandists in the National Press Corps to marginalize groups of people whose ideas are thought to be politically incorrect, it's only a matter of time before the executive branch of the federal government begins utilizing the dictatorial powers that have been granted to it by Congress. And, unfortunately, many State governments seem more than willing to participate in the Machiavellian machinations put forward by Washington, D.C. The MIAC report in the State of Missouri is a prime example.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Sadder still is the way so many Christian pastors and churches have become little more than glorified cheerleaders for Statism and Militarism. While the Trojan Horse of Big Government sits unnoticed in Town Square, so-called Christians spend most of their time either trying to kill each other because of differences of opinion over secondary doctrines, or trying to turn their worship services into miniature versions of Walt Disney World.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">I ask you, did you hear anything from your pastor regarding NDAA? Did you hear anything from your pastor regarding the Patriot Act or the Military Commissions Act? If not, do you really think you will hear him say anything about the EEA? Again I ask you, are not the fundamental principles of liberty as valuable and as scriptural as the so-called "family values" we hear pastors talk so much about? I would argue that without the undergirding foundational principles of liberty (codified in the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights), the so-called "family values" would become moot very quickly! Before Hitler's government could begin marching people off to concentration camps, it had to destroy the foundational elements of liberty in the hearts and minds of the German people--including German pastors and churches. A government that doesn't respect your liberty will not respect your life, your family, your religion, or your morality!

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">At this point, I invite readers to watch my address from last Sunday, January 8, 2012. In this address, I deal forthrightly with the NDAA and show the scriptural instruction regarding how unlawful and illegitimate government is the chief source of "tribulation" that the Bible talks so much about. I also give a scriptural outline as to how Christian people are to relate and respond to government--both good and bad.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">While we are on the topic of liberty, someone has produced a fascinating clip of Congressman Ron Paul showing the predictions he made on the floor of the US House of Representatives back in 2002--along with the fulfillment of those predictions in subsequent news headlines. People who view this brief You Tube video might just begin to understand why Congressman Paul is the only Presidential candidate who truly understands the causes of this loss of liberty taking place in our land.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Given the way congressmen and senators from both major parties are willing to grant dictatorial powers to the President, it seems likely that the EEA will pass in much the same way as did the NDAA. It seems to me that the longer we keep expecting Washington, D.C., to solve our problems, the more our problems will increase. Remember the sagacious words of President Ronald Reagan: "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 14.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">If we are going to "guard and defend" (Daniel Webster) our liberties, it is going to take states and local communities to do it, because those miscreants in Washington, D.C., are doing everything they can to dismantle our liberties, not protect them. We need State governors, lieutenant governors, attorney generals, and sheriffs to stand in the gap NOW! The citizens of Missouri have been given such a window. Some might say that it is "providential" or perhaps "a favorable conjunction of celestial circumstances". Whether fate, blind luck or Divine intervention is not really an important issue. What is important is what we the people of Missouri will do with this opportunity.

In recent days the "Draft Ed Martin" idea has started to snow-ball into a real grass roots movement. Patriots across the state are quick to see this opportunity for significant strengthening of our state's sovereignty. With Ed Martin in the race for Governor we would have an opportunity to truly restore some semblance of sanity and sanctity to state government and put Missouri on the road to real prosperity.

The idea of a "Draft Ed Martin" campaign has not come to fruition because of political manipulation, but because the political landscape has shifted creating a perfect storm scenario. Consider the following:

·<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";"> Just a few months ago, it was considered that Jay Nixon would be difficult to defeat in the 2012 election. He has been a very careful and crafty politician,. . . until this summer. His trips to China to help promote the shift of Missouri Jobs "off-shore", his call of a Special Session of the General Assembly to push for his Mercantilism plan for a China Hub in St. Louis and, the worst of all, his blatant attempt at a back room deal, that ignores the will of 73% of Missouri voters, establishing an ObamaCare Exchange in Missouri. Jay Nixon has clearly shown his allegiance to the current administration and their socialist agenda.

·<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";"> It has been assumed that Peter Kinder was the GOP designated candidate for Governor. To date, Mr. Kinder has presented a lackluster approach to his expected "run" for the office, having spent much of his political capitol and resources on damage control. He has indicated that later this month he will make it official whether he will even enter the race or not. A rock solid candidate to take on an incumbent Governor? I don't think so.

·<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";"> Early interest in Republican candidate for Governor, Bill Randles, has diminished recently due to questions concerning his ability to campaign effectively and to raise sufficient funds to conduct a viable campaign.
The really great news is that we have the perfect candidate to fill this void. Ed Martin is a Constitutional Patriot and a proven champion of conservative values. We hope that he might be persuaded into leaving a successful campaign and declaring his intention to run for Governor.

Missouri needs a proven States rights champion in the Governor's office. Ed Martin is too valuable a natural resource for Missouri to waste on our Feral Government. (NO, it isn't a typo!) Beware of a malignant virus.....
Warning! Beware of a malignant virus.....

Warning, be on the look-out for one of the most destructive problems to infect an organization. It is more insidious than a common computer virus spawned in some 14 year olds bedroom and even more malicious than a Trojan from Nigeria. This destructive and contagious virus has been the downfall of many well intended projects. It has been the cause of entire church congregations to splinter and divide. We all know of instances where whole families have been torn apart by this seed of evil.

We need to learn to identify and eradicate this malignant malady before it infects the entire system.

What is the problem? In short, Envy, Enmity, Ego. The BIG I, little you. We know best and you are a threat.

"Everything is destroyed by its own particular vice: the destructive power resides within. Rust destroys iron, moths destroy clothes, the worm eats away the wood; but greatest of all evils is envy, impious habitant of corrupt souls, which ever was, is, and shall be a consuming disease." -- Menander (342 BC-292 BC)

Symptoms and warning signs.

• Jealousy and enmity over the success of others. Some early warning signs are sarcastic remarks (side-ways anger) about someone's performance or position.

• Gossip and back-biting. Repeating hear-say stories that are unflattering or negative.

When we sow seeds of discontent or focus on our differences and not on the things that unite and join us we seriously undermine our primary purpose. When we allow personalities to become more important than our principles we are headed for disastrous consequences. We must always be mindful to keep principles before personalities.

Preventive measures:

• Avoid Toxic people. Anyone that is always complaining or seldom has anything nice to say about their fellows.

• Avoid Rats. One of the most virulent strains of toxic people, the gossip. Shun anyone who has a tale to tell about a mutual acquaintance that they don't like.

• Evaluate information. Is it True? Is it Good? Is it Beautiful?

• Monitor own behavior. This is the hard one. Frequently take a moral inventory and ask yourself a few simple questions; Am I part of the solution or part of the problem? If people knew what I was thinking, would it be helpful or harmful? When was the last time I offered words of encouragement to an associate.

• Resist the temptation to argue your opinions against someone's ideology. Stay focused on facts. It's hard to argue with facts and the left will just resort to name calling and do you really want that?

• Focus on what you love. Love attracts while Hate repels.

As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "We may not have come on the same boat, but we are all in the same boat now."

OH, how we wish that we could boast of never being guilty of passing on this dread virus, but I fear that most of us have been guilty far oftener that I care to admit. We must remain always on the alert, and remember, when we have a finger to point at others, that three are pointing back. If we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem.
We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas." Joe Biden or Joe Stalin? (See answer at bottom)

I just finished reading the very excellent response to Joe Biden's inflammatory comments when he compared grassroots activists to "terrorists" and "hostage takers." While I whole heartedly agree with all of the sentiments expressed in their reply, I don't see any future in meeting with the Vice-President for the purpose of civil discourse.

Joe Biden has made a career out of being an empty suit and a buffoon. In my studied opinion, any attempt at an apology on his part would hold about as much credibility as, well, . . . comparisons fail me . . . . Joe Biden!

ST. LOUIS TEA PARTY CONDEMNS "TERRORIST" REMARKS FROM VICE-PRESIDENT BIDEN, LAWMAKERS

August 3, 2011

It was revealed Monday by Politico that Vice-President Joe Biden, U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle, and other lawmakers referred to the tea party as "terrorists" during a heated discussion on the debt ceiling debate. From Politico:

Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting.

“We have negotiated with terrorists, ” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”

Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists.”

The St. Louis Tea Party condemns the comparison of private citizens who desire fiscal restraint in Washington to murderous terrorists who have killed thousands of Americans world-wide.

"It's reprehensible to me that our Vice-President and other elected leaders would make such a grotesque analogy when in just over a month we will mark the tenth anniversary of the worst attack on American soil," remarks Dana Loesch, Co-Founder of the St. Louis Tea Party.

"It's an insult to Americans and the Democratic process to refer to dissenting Americans in such a way," says Bill Hennessy, St. Louis Tea Party Co-Founder. "Are our elected leaders so out of touch with what terrorism actually is that they are willing to defame, by way of analogy, a vast group of people? We have members who lost friends to terrorists in the 9/11 attacks. We do not have any members who have lost friends due to peaceful protest."

"It is tone-deaf and offensive," says Jen Ennenbach, media liaison of the St. Louis Tea Party. Other grassroots activists have expressed equal dismay at having their peaceful efforts to raise awareness of government excess compared to the likes of Jihadis. “The fact that the Vice President, or any other elected official would say this of American Citizens clearly shows they are still living in an alternate reality.”

The St. Louis Tea Party asks that Vice-President Biden, Rep. Doyle, and other lawmakers who have defamed grassroots activists by calling them "terrorists," "hostage takers," and other pejoratives to apologize for their careless remarks. The St. Louis Tea Party also extends to Vice-President Biden an invitation to meet with them and other grassroots groups so he can see how peaceful dissent is a cornerstone of, not a threat to, our Republic.

By Kris Kobach National Review, July 4, 2011

On May 26, for the first time in 35 years, the United States Supreme Court issued an opinion on whether states may take action to stop illegal immigration. In Chambers of Commerce's v. Whiting, the Supreme Court upheld the Legal Arizona Workers Act of 2007 against multiple challenges claiming that it was preempted by federal law. This act requires all employers in the state to use E-Verify Internet system to check the work authorization of new hires, and it penalizes employers who knowingly hire unauthorized aliens by suspending their business licenses. (E-Verify, run by the federal government, checks data supplied by immigrants against Homeland Security and Social Security records to make sure they are eligible for employment.)

It was a 5-3 decision, with the conservative justices, plus Anthony Kennedy, siding with Arizona. Justice Elena Kagan recused herself because the Obama Justice Department had weighed in against Arizona when she was solicitor general.

The Justice Department urged the Supreme Court to take the case and participated in the oral argument on the losing side. The Obama administration has made no secret of its hostility toward Arizona and other states that want to use state powers to restore the rule of law in immigration. The Justice Department's pending lawsuit against Arizona's SB 1970, a 2010 law governing police procedures when officers encounter illegal aliens, is another example of this hostility.

Arizona's victory in the high court also gave an unmistakable green light to the other states. A week later, the Alabama legislature passed HB 56 - the strongest law against illegal immigration that any state has enacted to date - and on June 9, Gov. Robert Bentley signed it into law. This measure, known as the Benson-Harmmon Act after its main sponsors, includes everything that Arizona has done on the subject, plus a good deal more: prohibiting illegal aliens from attending public universities in the state, providing for civil forfeiture of vehicles used to knowingly transport illegal aliens, prohibiting landlords from knowingly harboring illegal aliens in apartments and required public schools to count the number of illegal aliens receiving a free k-12 education at taxpayer expense.

Behind Alabama and Arizona are a growing number of other states that have taken significant steps down the same road, including Missouri, Mississippi, South Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma and Indiana. And the list of states seeking to deter illegal immigration is sure to grow in the future.

These states are motivated by two powerful forces: public frustration over lax enforcement of federal immigration laws, and the fiscal burden that illegal immigration imposes on tax payers. The Federation for American Immigration Reform calculates that the net fiscal burden caused by illegal immigration is $100 billion per year for all levels of government combined. That's a net figure, taking into account any taxes that illegal aliens may pay.

About $80 billion of that total falls at the state and local levels - meaning that state and local governments have to pick up the tab when federal immigration laws go unenforced. The biggest items are free K-12 education for children in illegal-alien households; costs incurred through the arrest, trial, and imprisonment of illegal aliens who commit additional crimes; and medical costs imposed on public budgets by illegal aliens. In effect, the federal government's failure to enforce immigration laws is a massive unfunded mandate. And unlike the federal government, nearly all of the states have a constitutional obligation to balance their budgets, so these costs cannot be ignored.

If a state can encourage illegal aliens to go home, however, the fiscal burden can be reduced dramatically. State laws like Alabama's and Arizona's are based on the principle of attrition through enforcement: If a state ratchets up the level of enforcement, illegal aliens will weigh the costs and benefits of remaining unlawfully, and will leave. Using calculations from the study by Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation, we can expect that for every illegal-alien-headed household that returns to its country of origin, on average, taxpayers realize a net fiscal benefit of $19,588 per year.

Arizona's success in encouraging illegal aliens to self-deport has been impressive thus far. Between 2008 and 2010, the population of illegal aliens in the United States decreased by 7 percent, but in Amazonia it decreased by 18 percent. This exodus is widely attributed to two law-enforcement efforts: the implementation of the Legal Arizona Workers Act, beginning Jan. 1, 2008, and the contemporaneous enforcement of Arizona's 2005 anti-smuggling law by Sheriff Joe Arpaino of Maricopa County, Which contains the majority of Arizona's population and is the hub of alien-smuggling operations into the United States.

While it is undoubtedly true that some of Arizona's illegal aliens simply packed their bags and moved to states such as California, where liberal law's welcome them, it is also true that many left the United States altogether. This was dramatically illustrated in early 2008, when legislators from the Mexican border state of Sonora sent a delegation north to Arizona. Their mission? To complain to Arizona officials that the Legal Arizona Workers Act was sending too many Mexican nationals home too quickly, and that Sonora could not handle the burden on its public services and infrastructure.

Although the Supreme Court's decision in Whiting did not directly address Arizona's SB1070, it greatly boost the prospects of success not only for that law, but also for immigration-enforcement bills in a number of other states. Realizing this, the ACLU, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), and other open borders groups launched into damage-control mode in the wake of the decision. They tried to spin the Whiting opinion as an extremely narrow holding that has no bearing on other laws or other states.

The ACLU's challenge to such laws has rested principally on the concept of "conflict preemption." This concerns cases in which a state or local law poses an obstacle to the accomplishment of Congress's objectives as spelled out in federal law. If that happens, the state law is invalid.

The problem for the ACLU is that there is no federal law prohibiting states and cities from taking steps to stop illegal immigration. On the contrary, there are numerous federal statutes inviting states assistance in the enforcement of immigration laws. So the ACLU is reduced to arguing that the state and local laws are somehow in "tension" with federal law, even if there is no conflict on the face of the statutes.

The Whiting decision made it clear that that argument will no longer fly: "Implied preemption analysis does not justify a 'free-wheeling judicial inquiry into whether a state statute is in tension with federal objectives'; such an endeavor 'would undercut the principle that it is Congress rather than the courts that preempts state law.'" And that's precisely the point. Congress has never acted to prohibit state and local laws that discourage illegal immigration, so the open-borders Left is asking the courts to do it instead.

Their favorite argument to demonstrate "tension" with federal law is to declare that Congress intended for immigration laws to be enforced uniformly across the land. They claim that aggressively enforced state laws in place in places such as Arizona disrupt this uniformity. and therefore the courts should throw them out. But the Supreme Court emphatically rejected this argument, stating: "Congress expressly preserved the ability of the States to impose their own sanctions through licensing; that - like our federal system in general - necessarily entails the prospect of some departure from homogeneity."

Perhaps most important, the Court also endorsed the constitutional doctrine of concurrent enforcement, on which Arizona, Alabama, and other states have relied in drafting their laws. If a state prohibits an activity that is already prohibited by federal law, then state and federal law are concurrent and no conflict can exist. The Supreme Court applied this doctrine and observed approvingly that "the Arizona law ... trace[s] federal law."

In particular, the Supreme Court gave Arizona high marks for adopting the definitions and standards of federal law verbatim. "Arizona went the extra mile in ensuring that its law closely tracks [federal statutory] provisions in all respects. The Arizona law begins by adopting the federal definition of who qualifies as an "unauthorized alien.' . . . Not only that, the Arizona law expressly provides that state investigators must verify the work authorization of an allegedly unauthorized alien with the Federal Government, and 'shall not attempt to independently make a final determination on whether an alien is authorized to work in the United States. '"

This was by design. The same deference to federal definitions and federal determinations of immigration status also appears in Alabama's Beason-Hammon Act, Arizona's SB 1070, Missouri's illegal-immigration act of 2007, and just about every other properly drafted state or local immigration law on the books. It is therefore highly likely that these laws will withstand any legal challenge in the wake of Whiting.

But perhaps the best indication of how sweeping the Whiting opinion was came eleven days later, when the Supreme Court vacated the decision of the Third Circuit in Lonzano v. City of Hazleton. In that case, the Third Circuit had struck down a municipal ordinance in Hazleton, Pa., prohibiting the hiring of unauthorized aliens by employers and the harboring of illegal aliens by landlords. The Supreme court erased the Third Circuit's decision and directed it to reconsider the case in light of Whiting. Importantly, the Supreme Court remanded the entire decision, not just the employment part, for reconsideration. In other words, although the law at issue in Whiting specifically concerned the employment of unauthorized aliens, the principles enunciated by the Supreme Court were applicable to any state or local law concerning illegal immigration.

In summary, the road ahead for state and local laws deterring illegal immigration looks very good - at least in court. Yet some Republicans in Congress seem determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Treating the states as nothing more than a proving ground for "real" reform at the federal level, they are willing to sell out Arizona and the other states in return for modest improvements to federal law.

Specifically, they have approached the pro-amnesty U.S. Chamber of Commerce to see whether a deal can now be reached for a bill to mandate E-Verify usage nationwide. The Chamber, long opposed to enforcement of immigration laws in the work-place, has demanded a heavy price in return for is assent - the removal of states from the field.

H.R. 2164, drafted under the watchful supervision of the Chamber and introduced on June 14 by Rep. Lamar Smith (R. Tex.), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, achieves exactly that. It prohibits the states from suspending the business licenses of employers who knowingly hire unauthorized aliens. In other words, it stabs Arizona in the back right after the state's victory in the Supreme Court. Nothing would please the Chamber and the Obama administration more.

The members of Congress who back Smith's bill suffer from the same delusion that grips all too many politicians in Washington: that the ultimate solution to any problem lies in passing a law in Congress. What they fail to grasp is that the political will to enforce immigration laws, and the resources to do so, are far more important. If the federal immigration laws that are already on the books were adequately enforced, there would be no illegal immigration problem.

Aliens have self-deported from Arizona not because they think U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will start enforcing federal laws more aggressively, but because they know the state and local officials are very serious about enforcing the state laws. When Obama's Department of Homeland Security began halting worksite enforcement raids across the country, Arizona's employer-sanctions of the law was kicking in. By the end of 2009, Maricopa County officials had investigated and/or raided more than two dozen businesses suspected of knowing hiring unauthorized aliens. Word gets around very quickly when a law is being enforced, and many illegal aliens left the state on their own initiative. The same will happen in Alabama in September, when the state's new law goes into effect.

To take the states out of the enforcement game would be the height of foolishness. ICE has a mere 6,000 interior (i.e. non-border) enforcement agents to cover the entire country. In contrast, state and local governments can bring nearly 800,000 law-enforcement officers to bear on the problem. That is why the Chamber of Commerce is so eager to pass Smith's bill and end the threat of state-level enforcement. That is also why the Obama administration and the ACLU launched a legal jihad against Arizona - to send a message to the other states.

With Whiting, the Supreme Court has dealt a decisive blow to the legal position of the Obama administration and the AC:U. Now is the time for the states to press forward and make additional progress in reducing illegal immigration.

Hopefully, after 2012, a new administration in Washington will be interested in vigorously enforcing immigration laws and will recognize that it is difficult, if not impossible, for the federal government to achieve that goal alone. The only way to end illegal immigration is for both the federal government and the states to take to the field, working together to restore the rule of law.
Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6900734511232289961.post-14269023376581848532011-07-26T13:51:00.001-05:002011-07-26T14:01:19.841-05:00Conservative Government America’s Only Hope
Conservative Government America’s Only HopeHold The House.

Take back the Senate and the White House.

A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

If you like what’s going on in Washington, DC these days, you’re going to love the next 16 months, or so.

What we are seeing are the differences between the two major political parties in America laid bare for all to see. The factions within each party are also coming to the fore, all with bared fangs.

Politics in America is not some kid’s game. This IS a blood sport. It is as old as the country itself.

Americans have revolted twice. Once against Great Britain. The second was the “War for Southern Independence,” commonly referred to as the “Civil War.” We didn’t LIKE either. Had we been able to settle our differences, in both cases, in the nation’s government neither war would have happened. Americans are deeply aware of that fact.

So, we fight like cats and dogs in the houses of our government with words and phrases – along, of course, with strutting and preening before the cameras and microphones of what passes for the news media in this country -- and yes, even the world press.

Understand, dear reader, we do this rather than go at each other as we did at, oh, say Manassas, Antietam, Shiloh, Gettysburg and other well known fields that ran with American blood -- simply because we could not settle our dispute in the nation’s government.

It is clear to all that an extremely great struggle is going on in Washington today. The battle over the debt ceiling and spending cuts is only a sideshow. The fight is over whether America will continue on the socialist path, which is destroying the nation, and impoverishing its people, or, will America return to its rightful place as a constitutional “representative republic” as the founders of the nation intended.

The bottom line is this: America either lives or dies as a result of the death struggle going on in Washington today. Either freedom dies – or socialism dies. They cannot co-exist. One must terminate the other. No quarter can be allowed.

For freedom to have even a chance at survival in America, we must have a conservative government.

It is clear what socialism can and will do -- and HAS already done -- to this country. There should no longer be any doubt. It must be defeated.

Conservatives need to target the US Senate in the 2012 elections. Democrats will have some 23 seats up for reelection. Conservatives must see that those seats go to conservative candidates.

At the same time, conservatives must maintain control of the US House of Representatives AND replace a goodly portion of the so-called “establishment” Republicans with rock solid conservative republicans. It is plain to see that today’s House does not have the spine it needs to buck the socialist agenda of the democrats.

And Obama MUST GO! He has been the most divisive president since Lincoln. The man is a socialist, plain and simple. He and his socialist agenda have driven America so far down the path to Third-World status that it will take us at least a generation to climb back to where we were in 2008.

Do not underestimate Obama’s chances to win in 2012. With his campaign organization, his money, his shock troops (The Labor Unions), his propaganda machine (The Mainstream Media) and every minority group in America supporting him, he will be a formidable candidate -- no matter what the polls say about his popularity.

Taking America back from the socialists will be a humongous task. But the alternative is unthinkable.

Obama’s disengagement of America from its leadership role in the world has lead to nothing but chaos. The Mediterranean states, and a goodly portion of the European states, are in various states of division and chaos. And it will only get worse until America shows the leadership the world is waiting for and counting on.

It will not come as long as Obama is in the Oval Office. In fact, the mess America, herself, is in will not be resolved as long as Obama remains President of the USA.

So. We have a three-step solution to take back America from the socialists. Replace “establishment republicans” with conservative republicans in the US House, replace 23 democrat senators with conservative senators in the US Senate – and – toss Obama and his minions out of the Oval Office and replace HIM with a conservative.

Like any plan that looks good on paper it is immensely more difficult to implement. But – it IS the solution.

Conservatives have less than a year and a half to get this done. Hadn’t we ought to be about it?

Paul Krugman, the Nobel Ignoramus, recently wrote a column for the New York Times entitled, "The Angry Rich." According to Krugman wealthy people are angry because money to which they feel “entitled” is being taken away. Krugman is outing himself as a socialist by admitting publicly that he considers the idea of wanting to keep more of your own money an “entitlement.” Radical leftists lie and distort to incite class envy. They call it “greedy” to want to keep money that you earned, but it’s not greedy to demand that government steal it from you and redistribute it to those who never earned it. That’s an interesting interpretation of “greed.”

Krugman forgets to tell his readers that this "angry minority" pays the "disproportionate majority" of the taxes. The top 1% of earners pays almost 40% of all income taxes. The top 5% pays 70% of taxes. The top 25% pays almost 100% of taxes. Damn right the rich are angry. It’s always easy to vote for tax increases on someone else- especially when it gets redistributed to you.

Yes, we’re angry. We are tired of being scapegoats and punching bags. We are tired of politicians taking our hard-earned money and wasting it on bloated government spending; more government employees who receive guaranteed jobs and obscene pensions for life; unnecessary wars; vote-buying earmarks; corrupt bailouts to campaign contributors; and trillion dollar handouts described as stimulus.

Krugman reports that these are desperate times for people who have lost their jobs or homes. This is true. But who will create the jobs to help all these people? Assuming they still have the money- small business. Entrepreneurs who pursue the "American Dream” do so by creating businesses, creating jobs, and spending money on equipment and raw materials. They make their employees and the employees of the places they buy from, rich too. How many millionaires did Google, Cisco, Apple, and Microsoft mint? How much money did their employees spend? How many Americans were enriched by all this success?

Krugman says “real” rage and suffering isn’t found among the rich. In his socialist mind it’s only found among the poor. Well Mr. Krugman, my friends are mostly small business owners. They aren’t rich like your limo-driving, private jet-flying, Gucci-wearing, leftist, New York Times readers. My friends are “working rich.” And they are suffering in record numbers. They are losing their executive jobs, never to find another. They are struggling to make payrolls, so their employees can pay the mortgage- while they themselves forgo a paycheck. They are losing their small businesses, along with everything they’ve worked years to build. They are spending their retirement money on their own survival, or their children’s college education. They are desperate- you just don’t notice up there on the top floors of the New York Times.

This is precisely why there are no jobs- “the working rich” are in trouble, under siege and being squeezed by the economy and government. And as long as people like Mr. Krugman are in power, there will be no new jobs. The truth is socialists like Obama and Krugman wouldn’t know how to create a job, if it hit them in the face. The only way they know how to create jobs is by taking $40 million from taxpayers’ pockets to create twenty temporary jobs at a cost of $2 million each. Thank goodness we have Nobel Prize winners like Krugman and Obama to save us.

It’s small business owners earning $250,000 to $500,000, not the titans on Wall Street, who will be hit by Obama’s gigantic tax increases. Yet Obama and his leftist cronies chose to bailout Wall Street and give sweetheart deals to the big shot execs at AIG, Goldman Sachs, and GM. It’s no coincidence that Obama was the biggest beneficiary of their campaign contributions. During all this time, Obama did nothing for small business. Now Krugman and Obama demand higher taxes on “the rich” and use Wall Street titans as the scapegoat to hide who will really be paying the tab.

Krugman denigrates and taunts people who make $250,000 to $500,000. “They can afford higher taxes” is his leftist chant. But take another $50,000 in taxes from a family making $400,000 and you've just put two of their employees making $30,000 a year directly in the unemployment line. You'll spend about $400 a week in unemployment insurance for the next 99 weeks for each of those employees, for a net loss to the government of $30,000 or so. That kind of economic model only works in books written by Karl Marx, and taught by Nobel Ignoramus Prize winners.

Krugman calls the rich in America “the world’s luckiest people.” Are you joking? The majority of the rich you are referring to, toil at their small businesses 60+ hours a week, sacrificing family and quality of life. Unlike government employees, they have no short workdays, no 3-day weekends, no summers off, no guaranteed jobs for life, no bloated pensions.

These heroes of the business world that Krugman derisively calls “rich” and “greedy” took on hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to fund their educations, then risked hundreds of thousands more to start their small businesses. Their reward for all this hard-work, sacrifice and risk-taking from socialists like Obama and Krugman? A greedy government that demands more and more in return for…nothing. Sorry Mr Krugman, I don’t need partners like that. Usually partners like that are called organized crime.

Mr. Krugman says the rich aren’t willing to sacrifice. Not true. The rich are willing to sacrifice, but they are not willing to be sacrificed, while the American Dream is forever destroyed.

Krugman says the rich are angry and out for revenge. Well that’s not hard to understand when a productive minority of risk-takers and job creators is being lynched by a dysfunctional group of socialists that believes keeping some of your own money is an "entitlement." Soon we intend to insure that Nobel Ignoramus socialists like Krugman and Obama and are never again allowed anywhere near the American economy.Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6900734511232289961.post-10272878532380031862010-09-16T22:30:00.000-05:002010-09-16T22:30:15.663-05:00RNC At Work

By Alan Caruba

*****************
The last time I recall the nation being this concerned over the state of the presidency was during the Lewinsky scandal and ensuing impeachment proceedings against President Clinton. Before that it was during the slow revelation of the Watergate scandal that finally forced Richard Nixon’s resignation. On Thursday, July 22, an editorial opinion by Tom Tancredo in The Washington Times called for the impeachment of President Obama. A column by Jeffrey Kuhner was titled “President’s socialist takeover must be stopped.”

Tancredo, a former five-term member of Congress, is now the chairman of the Rocky Mountain Foundation. Kuhner, a Times columnist, is president of the Edmund Burke Institute.

Burke, an Irish orator, philosopher and politician (1729-1797) is best known for his warning that “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing", but he also said, “Men have no right to put the well-being of the present generation wholly out of the question. Perhaps the only moral trust with any certainty in our hands is the care of our own time.”

It is the conceit of every generation that those that preceded it were less sophisticated, but it is clear from Alexander Hamilton’s Federalist Paper number 65, published in the New York Packet on March 7, 1788, that the question of impeachment as defined in the Constitution was being debated, the subtleties of the issue were not only understood by the author, but by Americans of his era as well.

Hamilton wrote: “A well-constituted court for the trial of impeachments is an object not more to be desired than difficult to be obtained in a government wholly elective. The subjects of its jurisdiction are those offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust. They are of a nature which may with peculiar propriety be denominated political, as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself. The prosecution of them, for this reason, will seldom fail to agitate the passions of the whole community, and to divide it into parties more or less friendly or inimical to the accused.”

The removal of Barack Hussein Obama from the office of the presidency is increasingly spoken of among concerned Americans and now has risen to the level of discussion in print. The two Times articles enumerated the reasons why.

Tancredo began by reminding us that “every citizen elected to serve in Congress or any person appointed to any federal position” must swear an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.”

“For the first time in American history,” said Tancredo, “we have a man in the White House who consciously and brazenly disregards his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution.”

Going straight to the heart of the issue confronting all Americans, Tancredo said, “Our president is an enemy of the Constitution and, as such, he is a danger to our safety, our security, and our personal freedoms.”

Kuhner wrote that Obama is “slowly, piece by piece, erecting a socialist dictatorship. We are not there yet, but he is putting America on that dangerous path. He is undermining our constitutional system of checks and balances, subverting democratic procedures and the rule of law…”

Tancredo listed what he regards as impeachable offenses which the Constitution describes as “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Impeachment has twice been attempted in the nation’s past and neither succeeded. Among those cited by Tancredo are:

# Disenfranchising General Motors and Chrysler bondholders in order to transfer billions of investor dollars to his supporters in the United Auto Workers;

# Implementing a third ban on off-shore drilling despite the rejection by two federal courts.

# The appointment of judges who want to create law rather than interpret it.

# The failure to defend the nation’s southern border against an invasion of illegal aliens.Tancredo could have added the questionable demand that BP create a $20 billion fund to cover the cost of the oil cleanup and the losses incurred by those affected by it. That was entirely without any previous historic or legal precedent.

The creation, too, of an entire level of presidential advisors (czars) within the White House who appear to have been granted greater powers than Secretaries of various federal departments in determining policy is highly questionable. Few underwent any examination by the Senate.

Kuhner warned about Obamacare’s funding of abortion, along with the creation of “a command-and-control health care system, “a frontal assault on property rights”, the new financial reform act that he deemed “essentially nationalize the big banks” while noting the same effect on the financial sector, and the student loan industry. He too noted the takeover of the automakers.

Kuhner warned that Obama’s “comprehensive immigration reform” would grant amnesty to 12 to 20 million illegal aliens “would sound the death knell for our national sovereignty.” The Obama Justice Department’s decision to sue Arizona for its immigration law was deemed as “siding with criminals against his fellow Americans” and desecrated his constitutional oath.

Kuhner deemed it “treasonous.”Kuhner urged that, should the Republicans win back Congress in November “formal investigations into this criminal, scandal-ridden administration” should be launched.

I doubt that even Republican control of Congress in both houses would undertake impeachment proceedings against Obama. That did not go well when it was tried against Clinton. At best a Congress in which they controlled either or both houses would become a bulwark against further predations by the first Marxist president ever elected in America and, hopefully, the last.

Among the limited duties of the US Government enumerated in the federal Constitution is Article. IV. Section. 4. “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.” However, for several decades now, the federal government in Washington, D.C., has shown great ambition and propensity to engage in activities to which it was never authorized, and to ignore those responsibilities with which it is specifically charged. The responsibility of the federal government to protect each State against invasion is a classic example of the latter.

Can anyone deny that the states on the US southern border (California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas) are being invaded by an ongoing onslaught of illegal aliens (many of whom are violent and dangerous criminals)? Somewhere between 12 and 30 million illegals now reside in the US. The entire country is feeling the effects of this invasion, but the Border States are literally under siege. And not only does the federal government do nothing to protect the states against this invasion, it actively wars against states such as Arizona when they attempt to protect themselves. Yes, I am saying it: the Washington, D.C., lawsuit against the State of Arizona’s immigration laws should be regarded as an act of war against the State of Arizona in particular, and against the states general in principle.

Please consider what Arizona and the other Border States are dealing with. According to published reports:

• In Los Angeles, 95% of all outstanding warrants for homicide in the first half of 2004 (which totaled 1,200 to 1,500) targeted illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) were for illegal aliens.

• Some private reports state that 83% of warrants for murder in Phoenix and 86% of warrants for murder in Albuquerque, New Mexico, are for illegal aliens. These reports cannot be verified, of course, because the feds discourage law enforcement agencies from releasing such statistics.

• At any given time, up to 75% of those on the most wanted list in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Albuquerque are illegal aliens.

• 23% of all inmates in LA County detention centers are “deportable.”

• LA police estimate that violent gangs, such as MS-13 and 18th Street Gang, are “overwhelmingly” composed of illegal aliens.

To read one very enlightening testimony given before Congress by an expert on illegal immigration containing some of the above information (and much more), go here:

http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html/mac_donald04-13-05.htm

In addition, the Pew Hispanic Center (an organization friendly to all things Hispanic) reports that by 2007, “nearly one-quarter (24%) of all federal convictions” involve illegal aliens. And “among those sentenced for immigration offenses in 2007, 80% were Hispanic.” The PHC went on to report that illegal Hispanics “represented 29% of all federal offenders.”

See the report at:

http://pewhispanic.org/reports/report.php?ReportID=104

Remember, too, that illegal aliens murder (on average) 12 American citizens EVERY DAY in the United States. That means illegals murder more Americans EVERY YEAR than in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan COMBINED, TO DATE. Plus, illegal aliens who drive drunk kill an additional 13 Americans EVERY DAY.

See the following report:

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53103

At this point, I will not again chronicle the financial costs and job losses exacted upon the American taxpayers by these invading illegals, but I encourage you to read a previous column I wrote on this subject. See it here:

http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/?p=1490

Plus, my web site contains an exhaustive page dealing with the problems and costs of the ongoing invasion by illegal aliens against this country. See it at:

http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/?page_id=123

Add to the above the blatant rhetoric and public statements of activists within radical Hispanic revolutionary groups such as La Raza that incessantly call for the “reconquista” of the southwestern United States, and one can easily discern that the invasion by (mostly) Mexicans in the US is much more than “poor people trying to find a better life.” There is some of that going on, of course, but the invasion also includes violent criminal gang members, drug dealers, human traffickers, rogue government troops, and covert provocateurs who are attempting to destabilize US cities and states, promote crime and violence, disrupt honest elections, and even facilitate revolution against the American citizenry.

And what does the Barack Obama administration do? Instead of obeying the Constitution and helping to protect the State of Arizona (and the other Border States), it sues the State of Arizona for trying to protect itself. Again, by this action, has not Washington, D.C., declared war against the State of Arizona (and, by implication, the other 49 independent, sovereign states)?

Please understand: Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and her allies in the Arizona legislature are not only defending their State, they are working to protect every State in the Union. Very obviously, the line is being drawn in the sand against a federal leviathan that increasingly shows blatant disregard for not only its own responsibilities and duties, but for the rights and freedoms of the individual sovereign states, and for the American citizenry as a whole.

And for those misguided Christians and pastors out there who are prone to defend and facilitate this invasion of illegal aliens in the name of Christian compassion, I would like to remind them of the words of our Lord, who said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1 KJV) Thus, our Savior plainly categorizes illegal aliens (or anyone who refuses to enter through a door–or across a border–honestly) as thieves and robbers. Unfortunately, many are also rapists, murderers, violent drug dealers, and slave merchants.

If Barack Obama had even a smidgen of honesty and integrity, instead of attacking the people of the State of Arizona for simply trying to defend themselves against a very real and dangerous foreign invasion, he would take seriously his responsibility to help protect them against this invasion, which Article IV. Section. 4. of the US Constitution clearly requires him to do.Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6900734511232289961.post-13270295438536951622010-07-04T10:36:00.001-05:002010-07-04T10:41:17.656-05:00ENOUGH!A Commentary by J. We have HAD IT … with the politicians running the US government today! To narrow it down, a bit, we are writing, most specifically, about the Socialist-Democrats in Congress and the Socialist-Marxist in the White House.

We, the American people, have been shut out of our own government. Legislation is now made behind closed doors, as our Congresspersons and Senators cut themselves off from the very folks they swore to represent.

Their arrogance and condescension is nauseating. Anyone questioning them is at risk of being made a fool of, in public, before his friends and neighbors. How DARE we question our “betters?”

They blatantly go against the will of the American people by passing laws that are flat-out against the American will.

They refuse to defend the country from those stealing across its borders to take up residence, illegally, and begin sucking up every dollar possible from the people’s treasury, which is administered by the same socialist-democrats who then swear they are doing everything they can do to secure the border. That, dear reader is a LIE!

Our current government consists of socialists, Marxists, communists, progressives, and a handful of pitiful, completely malleable, liberals, as well as the RINOS from the right side of the aisle. THESE are the people taking the United States down the tube to that vast sewer of failed socialist nations whose citizens bought the scam lock, stock, and barrel – just as the millions of naïve, hopelessly vacuous, elites from the political left are doing now, today, with the propaganda spewed forth by the legions of Obama supporters hell bent on crushing the American Constitutional Republic.

They MUST bring about the total collapse of America in order for them to remold America into a socialist/marxist/communist police state – a nightmare for freedom-loving people EVERYWHERE.

The freedom-loving people in the US had had it. They are shouting to Washington, and to the world, that they have had enough of American-style socialism and are taking a stand against it.

Unemployment in America continues to hover around ten percent. The stock market seems to have taken a plunge that may yet prove fatal to the national economy.

The national debt is soaring while Congress continues to spend wildly, having closed their ears to pleas from their constituents to stop the spending, and the borrowing, that will keep us in debt for generations of unborn Americans in the future.

Americans are angry – angrier than I have ever seen them in my nearly seven decades on the planet. They believe, and rightly so, their government is out of control. The facts certainly seem to bear them out.

A number of national grassroots movements (the best known is the Tea Party) have spread across America, like wildfire, as Americans, afraid of losing their country band together to fight for the preservation of their freedom and liberty and their constitutional republic.

The battle cry is “ENOUGH!”

Enough taxes.

Enough spending.

Enough borrowing.

We have had ENOUGH of their elitist arrogance.

We are sick to death of the left’s limp-wristed political correctness. Again, we say, ENOUGH!

Enough of the Globalists “Open Borders” policy! We want our borders secured. (And Obama can forget about amnesty for Illegal Aliens – unless, of course, he does it as a king would do it, as a dictator would do it: by executive order.)

We have had enough of the Democrat Party’s socialism/Marxism, communism, statism, collectivism, and progressivism in the Congress AND in the Oval Office.

We are fed up! We will not tolerate being pushed around by our very own government -- the one WE elected at the ballot box!

Again, and again, and again, we say: ENOUGH!

Understand, dear reader, WE ARE AMERICANS, DAMNIT! AMERICANS DO NOT TOLERATE THIS KIND OF GOVERNMENT! It is a threat to our liberty! It is a threat to our Freedom! It is a clear and present danger to our republic!

We MUST begin now to fight back -- all the way to the ballot box this coming November. We MUST purge our Congress of as many socialists, communists, Marxists, collectivists, Statists, progressives, and yes, liberals as are offered to us on the ballots.

We have NO CHOICE if America is to be rescued – if America is to be saved!

During a conversation they made a dramatic reaction to my statement to the effect, "I don't give any attention to mainstream media because I don't need the propaganda." After the reaction, I asked, "You aren't a bleeding liberal, are you?" To which they replied that I was all hung up on labels.

I then decided that I had better come up with a better reason as to why I didn't care much for liberals. Just saying, "They're a bunch of Jerks," or "They are all a bunch of ass holes," wasn't going to get it. The following is my effort.

( Or A Piss Ant Manifesto )

I assure you that I am not playing a game nor am I engaged in some ideological flight of fantasy. I have little time left and none of it for nonsense and games. As far as labeling goes, in my limited understanding of communication, not only my native language, but most of the languages of the world use words and word symbols to label and signify people, places and things. Aren’t labels used by the so-called “liberals” in an attempt to shame and identify those with whom they disagree? I seem to recall “Bigot”, “Redneck”, and “Fascist” being favorites. These words usually only meant “you are in our way and your ideas don’t count”.

In the interest of fairness, it is important to note that both the left and the right are guilty of manipulation of the language. None of these guys are innocent. The essence of the problem and the true offence is the utter contempt in which they hold for us.

Why do I dislike Liberals so much? For the same reason that I dislike hypocrites, phonies and frauds. Even criminals hate a liar and a thief. Before I go any further I need to clarify my understanding of the term used to distinguish people with a liberal ideology. When we look at the dictionary definition (thank you very much), of a liberal we are told that they are favorable to progress or reform. In reality the professed liberals work tirelessly to destroy and dismantle the fabric of society. The dictionary goes on; “favoring freedom of actions, open minded, tolerant, generous and in favor of maximum individual freedom secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.” Sounds pretty good, right? What’s not to like here? Perhaps the folks that I dislike intensely have been mislabeled. Are they Leftists? Marxist? Socialist? You think?

Let’s look at the behavior of these lost souls. They campaign, protest and lobby for tolerance of their beliefs and life-styles while working equally hard to destroy the life-style and belief system of those with which they disagree. For example:
A. Removal of all references to a supreme deity from any public place. The “liberals” have been successful in making it almost impossible to celebrate Christmas without censure in the name of not offending non-Christians while at the same time have made it possible for all forms of deviant behavior to parade before the public.

B. Liberal democracy a form of government based on limited majority rule. I guess that I must be a little dense on this one, how can it be termed a democracy and limit the will of the majority? I guess that explains why a relatively small segment of society can dictate school policy, federal mandates, state and local laws and impact the lives of the majority.

C. While claiming to be open minded, the “liberal” will reject and attempt to prohibit any and all expression of thought that is not part of their liberal ideology. They have made it possible for one to open an adult book store (porn store) within sight of a church or school but if anyone protests, they are in danger of being prosecuted for hate speech.

D. Freedom of religion has been perverted into freedom from religion. No prayer in school, that is no Judeao Christian prayer to be exact. Special accommodations are made for the frequent daily prayers of the followers of Islam.

E. I have often wondered how the liberals could justify and reconcile killing a baby as it was being born in the afternoon and then stand outside a prison all night for a candle light vigil to protest the execution of a convicted and admitted murderer. I now think I understand, they identify and relate to the murderer, they are kindred spirits. That was too easy. How could I have missed something that obvious?

My God, why can’t they see the results of their defective belief system and ill-conceived actions? Have they not been exposed to the history of the world? They do not seem to have the faintest understanding of natural law. They appear completely ignorant to the realities of cause and effect and seem to blatantly ignore the fact that ALL actions have consequences. If they could only be made to see the unintended consequences in all of these liberal actions. But that would require developing a manner of living that demanded rigorous honesty.

Liberals tend to fall into two categories: the ignorant and the evil. They both hide in the gray areas. Their ideology is not based on or backed by facts. Too general and simplistic you might say. Well, when you shine enough light on something there are no shadows. When you strip away the rhetoric etc. etc. everything is simple and specific. If one has a clear view and the mind is not clouded by erroneous and misguided thinking, there are no gray areas and everything becomes binary, True or false, black or white, yes or no. Remove all the rhetorical nonsense and illogical thinking and it is all true or false.

“Liberals” have a sound bite ideology but have no philosophy. *

Let’s first look at the first of these two categories; the ignorant. These unfortunate people have been seduced into a pattern of thinking that allows them to believe that they know what is best for everyone else. They seem to believe that personal liberty absolves them from any personal accountability. These so called “liberals” have sound bite ideology but have no philosophy. They work hard for change in the lives of others while striving to insure that their life is not affected. When questioned about their ideology, rather than respond with a coherent idea or concept they usually react by blaming Bush, the GOP, FOX News or the Oil Companies for all their misery. They whine on endlessly about utopia and how it ought to be and don’t have a clue about the realities of cause and effect. They much prefer to regurgitate the latest talking points generated by the NPR, Harry Reid and that deep thinker, Stuart Smalley. All hat and no cattle. This bunch of folks are really dangerous to the very fabric of society because they mean well and don’t have a clue, like a four year old in a crowded room with a loaded shotgun.

The second grouping is much easier to describe while being much more difficult to identify. Evil is always cunning, seductive and sly. These individuals know exactly what it is that they intend to accomplish. They are the elitists that intend to control and enslave all of humanity. They masquerade in the guise of “social liberals”. Do you need a history lesson for examples?

The liberal (or leftist or socialist) ideology promotes the assumption of self-assertion while tearing down the ideals of self-control or self-accountability. There is no error greater than that species of self-deception, which leads intelligent beings to crave the exercise of power over other beings for the purpose of depriving these persons of their natural liberties. The golden rule of human fairness cries out against all such fraud, unfairness, and selfishness. How dare anyone to encroach on the rights of their fellows in the name of promoting a self-serving “Liberal agenda”.

I hope that my rambling response in some way explains my behavior and perhaps give you a window into my personal philosophy. I am firm in my convictions and will remain loyal to my principles. I frankly do not know where you stand on these issues for we have never had “that discussion”. At least you now have a better idea of where I stand.

I will close with this offering: Reject any idea, concept or program that is not consistent with Goodness, Truth, and Beauty. This is a foolproof yardstick for evaluating any and all human thought and endeavor. Is it true? Is it Good? And is it Beautiful? If the answer to any of the questions is no or I’m not sure, then the idea being considered has not measured up and should be rejected.

* I also want to acknowledge the creative input of my Bro. Dave. He made the comment about the liberal’s lack of a philosophy that was the seed for this epistle. Any time that I have needed to do any serious digging, he has always been there to hold the light.Isadore "Chilidog" Pikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16218041974630701804noreply@blogger.com0
