A Small Business Owner Responds to Paul Krugman, Nobel Ignoramus.

by Wayen Allyn Root

Paul Krugman, the Nobel Ignoramus, recently wrote a column for the New York Times entitled, "The Angry Rich." According to Krugman wealthy people are angry because money to which they feel “entitled” is being taken away. Krugman is outing himself as a socialist by admitting publicly that he considers the idea of wanting to keep more of your own money an “entitlement.” Radical leftists lie and distort to incite class envy. They call it “greedy” to want to keep money that you earned, but it’s not greedy to demand that government steal it from you and redistribute it to those who never earned it. That’s an interesting interpretation of “greed.”

Krugman forgets to tell his readers that this "angry minority" pays the "disproportionate majority" of the taxes. The top 1% of earners pays almost 40% of all income taxes. The top 5% pays 70% of taxes. The top 25% pays almost 100% of taxes. Damn right the rich are angry. It’s always easy to vote for tax increases on someone else- especially when it gets redistributed to you.

Yes, we’re angry. We are tired of being scapegoats and punching bags. We are tired of politicians taking our hard-earned money and wasting it on bloated government spending; more government employees who receive guaranteed jobs and obscene pensions for life; unnecessary wars; vote-buying earmarks; corrupt bailouts to campaign contributors; and trillion dollar handouts described as stimulus.

Krugman reports that these are desperate times for people who have lost their jobs or homes. This is true. But who will create the jobs to help all these people? Assuming they still have the money- small business. Entrepreneurs who pursue the "American Dream” do so by creating businesses, creating jobs, and spending money on equipment and raw materials. They make their employees and the employees of the places they buy from, rich too. How many millionaires did Google, Cisco, Apple, and Microsoft mint? How much money did their employees spend? How many Americans were enriched by all this success?

Krugman says “real” rage and suffering isn’t found among the rich. In his socialist mind it’s only found among the poor. Well Mr. Krugman, my friends are mostly small business owners. They aren’t rich like your limo-driving, private jet-flying, Gucci-wearing, leftist, New York Times readers. My friends are “working rich.” And they are suffering in record numbers. They are losing their executive jobs, never to find another. They are struggling to make payrolls, so their employees can pay the mortgage- while they themselves forgo a paycheck. They are losing their small businesses, along with everything they’ve worked years to build. They are spending their retirement money on their own survival, or their children’s college education. They are desperate- you just don’t notice up there on the top floors of the New York Times.

This is precisely why there are no jobs- “the working rich” are in trouble, under siege and being squeezed by the economy and government. And as long as people like Mr. Krugman are in power, there will be no new jobs. The truth is socialists like Obama and Krugman wouldn’t know how to create a job, if it hit them in the face. The only way they know how to create jobs is by taking $40 million from taxpayers’ pockets to create twenty temporary jobs at a cost of $2 million each. Thank goodness we have Nobel Prize winners like Krugman and Obama to save us.

It’s small business owners earning $250,000 to $500,000, not the titans on Wall Street, who will be hit by Obama’s gigantic tax increases. Yet Obama and his leftist cronies chose to bailout Wall Street and give sweetheart deals to the big shot execs at AIG, Goldman Sachs, and GM. It’s no coincidence that Obama was the biggest beneficiary of their campaign contributions. During all this time, Obama did nothing for small business. Now Krugman and Obama demand higher taxes on “the rich” and use Wall Street titans as the scapegoat to hide who will really be paying the tab.

Krugman denigrates and taunts people who make $250,000 to $500,000. “They can afford higher taxes” is his leftist chant. But take another $50,000 in taxes from a family making $400,000 and you've just put two of their employees making $30,000 a year directly in the unemployment line. You'll spend about $400 a week in unemployment insurance for the next 99 weeks for each of those employees, for a net loss to the government of $30,000 or so. That kind of economic model only works in books written by Karl Marx, and taught by Nobel Ignoramus Prize winners.

Krugman calls the rich in America “the world’s luckiest people.” Are you joking? The majority of the rich you are referring to, toil at their small businesses 60+ hours a week, sacrificing family and quality of life. Unlike government employees, they have no short workdays, no 3-day weekends, no summers off, no guaranteed jobs for life, no bloated pensions.

These heroes of the business world that Krugman derisively calls “rich” and “greedy” took on hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to fund their educations, then risked hundreds of thousands more to start their small businesses. Their reward for all this hard-work, sacrifice and risk-taking from socialists like Obama and Krugman? A greedy government that demands more and more in return for…nothing. Sorry Mr Krugman, I don’t need partners like that. Usually partners like that are called organized crime.

Mr. Krugman says the rich aren’t willing to sacrifice. Not true. The rich are willing to sacrifice, but they are not willing to be sacrificed, while the American Dream is forever destroyed.

Krugman says the rich are angry and out for revenge. Well that’s not hard to understand when a productive minority of risk-takers and job creators is being lynched by a dysfunctional group of socialists that believes keeping some of your own money is an "entitlement." Soon we intend to insure that Nobel Ignoramus socialists like Krugman and Obama and are never again allowed anywhere near the American economy.

RNC At Work

Today, Karl Rove was seen at the RNC headquarters getting more ammunition to toss at conservative candidates. I seems he has exhausted his supply of slings and arrows and will resort to old fashioned "mud" slinging.

Talk of Impeachment

By Alan Caruba

*****************
The last time I recall the nation being this concerned over the state of the presidency was during the Lewinsky scandal and ensuing impeachment proceedings against President Clinton. Before that it was during the slow revelation of the Watergate scandal that finally forced Richard Nixon’s resignation. On Thursday, July 22, an editorial opinion by Tom Tancredo in The Washington Times called for the impeachment of President Obama. A column by Jeffrey Kuhner was titled “President’s socialist takeover must be stopped.”

Tancredo, a former five-term member of Congress, is now the chairman of the Rocky Mountain Foundation. Kuhner, a Times columnist, is president of the Edmund Burke Institute.

Burke, an Irish orator, philosopher and politician (1729-1797) is best known for his warning that “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing", but he also said, “Men have no right to put the well-being of the present generation wholly out of the question. Perhaps the only moral trust with any certainty in our hands is the care of our own time.”

It is the conceit of every generation that those that preceded it were less sophisticated, but it is clear from Alexander Hamilton’s Federalist Paper number 65, published in the New York Packet on March 7, 1788, that the question of impeachment as defined in the Constitution was being debated, the subtleties of the issue were not only understood by the author, but by Americans of his era as well.

Hamilton wrote: “A well-constituted court for the trial of impeachments is an object not more to be desired than difficult to be obtained in a government wholly elective. The subjects of its jurisdiction are those offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust. They are of a nature which may with peculiar propriety be denominated political, as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself. The prosecution of them, for this reason, will seldom fail to agitate the passions of the whole community, and to divide it into parties more or less friendly or inimical to the accused.”

The removal of Barack Hussein Obama from the office of the presidency is increasingly spoken of among concerned Americans and now has risen to the level of discussion in print. The two Times articles enumerated the reasons why.

Tancredo began by reminding us that “every citizen elected to serve in Congress or any person appointed to any federal position” must swear an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.”

“For the first time in American history,” said Tancredo, “we have a man in the White House who consciously and brazenly disregards his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution.”

Going straight to the heart of the issue confronting all Americans, Tancredo said, “Our president is an enemy of the Constitution and, as such, he is a danger to our safety, our security, and our personal freedoms.”

Kuhner wrote that Obama is “slowly, piece by piece, erecting a socialist dictatorship. We are not there yet, but he is putting America on that dangerous path. He is undermining our constitutional system of checks and balances, subverting democratic procedures and the rule of law…”

Tancredo listed what he regards as impeachable offenses which the Constitution describes as “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Impeachment has twice been attempted in the nation’s past and neither succeeded. Among those cited by Tancredo are:

# Disenfranchising General Motors and Chrysler bondholders in order to transfer billions of investor dollars to his supporters in the United Auto Workers;

# Implementing a third ban on off-shore drilling despite the rejection by two federal courts.

# The appointment of judges who want to create law rather than interpret it.

# The failure to defend the nation’s southern border against an invasion of illegal aliens.Tancredo could have added the questionable demand that BP create a $20 billion fund to cover the cost of the oil cleanup and the losses incurred by those affected by it. That was entirely without any previous historic or legal precedent.

The creation, too, of an entire level of presidential advisors (czars) within the White House who appear to have been granted greater powers than Secretaries of various federal departments in determining policy is highly questionable. Few underwent any examination by the Senate.

Kuhner warned about Obamacare’s funding of abortion, along with the creation of “a command-and-control health care system, “a frontal assault on property rights”, the new financial reform act that he deemed “essentially nationalize the big banks” while noting the same effect on the financial sector, and the student loan industry. He too noted the takeover of the automakers.

Kuhner warned that Obama’s “comprehensive immigration reform” would grant amnesty to 12 to 20 million illegal aliens “would sound the death knell for our national sovereignty.” The Obama Justice Department’s decision to sue Arizona for its immigration law was deemed as “siding with criminals against his fellow Americans” and desecrated his constitutional oath.

Kuhner deemed it “treasonous.”Kuhner urged that, should the Republicans win back Congress in November “formal investigations into this criminal, scandal-ridden administration” should be launched.

I doubt that even Republican control of Congress in both houses would undertake impeachment proceedings against Obama. That did not go well when it was tried against Clinton. At best a Congress in which they controlled either or both houses would become a bulwark against further predations by the first Marxist president ever elected in America and, hopefully, the last.

DC Declares War On States

Chuck Baldwin July 21, 2010

Among the limited duties of the US Government enumerated in the federal Constitution is Article. IV. Section. 4. “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.” However, for several decades now, the federal government in Washington, D.C., has shown great ambition and propensity to engage in activities to which it was never authorized, and to ignore those responsibilities with which it is specifically charged. The responsibility of the federal government to protect each State against invasion is a classic example of the latter.

Can anyone deny that the states on the US southern border (California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas) are being invaded by an ongoing onslaught of illegal aliens (many of whom are violent and dangerous criminals)? Somewhere between 12 and 30 million illegals now reside in the US. The entire country is feeling the effects of this invasion, but the Border States are literally under siege. And not only does the federal government do nothing to protect the states against this invasion, it actively wars against states such as Arizona when they attempt to protect themselves. Yes, I am saying it: the Washington, D.C., lawsuit against the State of Arizona’s immigration laws should be regarded as an act of war against the State of Arizona in particular, and against the states general in principle.

Please consider what Arizona and the other Border States are dealing with. According to published reports:

• In Los Angeles, 95% of all outstanding warrants for homicide in the first half of 2004 (which totaled 1,200 to 1,500) targeted illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) were for illegal aliens.

• Some private reports state that 83% of warrants for murder in Phoenix and 86% of warrants for murder in Albuquerque, New Mexico, are for illegal aliens. These reports cannot be verified, of course, because the feds discourage law enforcement agencies from releasing such statistics.

• At any given time, up to 75% of those on the most wanted list in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Albuquerque are illegal aliens.

• 23% of all inmates in LA County detention centers are “deportable.”

• LA police estimate that violent gangs, such as MS-13 and 18th Street Gang, are “overwhelmingly” composed of illegal aliens.

To read one very enlightening testimony given before Congress by an expert on illegal immigration containing some of the above information (and much more), go here:

http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html/mac_donald04-13-05.htm

In addition, the Pew Hispanic Center (an organization friendly to all things Hispanic) reports that by 2007, “nearly one-quarter (24%) of all federal convictions” involve illegal aliens. And “among those sentenced for immigration offenses in 2007, 80% were Hispanic.” The PHC went on to report that illegal Hispanics “represented 29% of all federal offenders.”

See the report at:

http://pewhispanic.org/reports/report.php?ReportID=104

Remember, too, that illegal aliens murder (on average) 12 American citizens EVERY DAY in the United States. That means illegals murder more Americans EVERY YEAR than in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan COMBINED, TO DATE. Plus, illegal aliens who drive drunk kill an additional 13 Americans EVERY DAY.

See the following report:

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53103

At this point, I will not again chronicle the financial costs and job losses exacted upon the American taxpayers by these invading illegals, but I encourage you to read a previous column I wrote on this subject. See it here:

http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/?p=1490

Plus, my web site contains an exhaustive page dealing with the problems and costs of the ongoing invasion by illegal aliens against this country. See it at:

http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/?page_id=123

Add to the above the blatant rhetoric and public statements of activists within radical Hispanic revolutionary groups such as La Raza that incessantly call for the “reconquista” of the southwestern United States, and one can easily discern that the invasion by (mostly) Mexicans in the US is much more than “poor people trying to find a better life.” There is some of that going on, of course, but the invasion also includes violent criminal gang members, drug dealers, human traffickers, rogue government troops, and covert provocateurs who are attempting to destabilize US cities and states, promote crime and violence, disrupt honest elections, and even facilitate revolution against the American citizenry.

And what does the Barack Obama administration do? Instead of obeying the Constitution and helping to protect the State of Arizona (and the other Border States), it sues the State of Arizona for trying to protect itself. Again, by this action, has not Washington, D.C., declared war against the State of Arizona (and, by implication, the other 49 independent, sovereign states)?

Please understand: Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and her allies in the Arizona legislature are not only defending their State, they are working to protect every State in the Union. Very obviously, the line is being drawn in the sand against a federal leviathan that increasingly shows blatant disregard for not only its own responsibilities and duties, but for the rights and freedoms of the individual sovereign states, and for the American citizenry as a whole.

And for those misguided Christians and pastors out there who are prone to defend and facilitate this invasion of illegal aliens in the name of Christian compassion, I would like to remind them of the words of our Lord, who said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1 KJV) Thus, our Savior plainly categorizes illegal aliens (or anyone who refuses to enter through a door–or across a border–honestly) as thieves and robbers. Unfortunately, many are also rapists, murderers, violent drug dealers, and slave merchants.

If Barack Obama had even a smidgen of honesty and integrity, instead of attacking the people of the State of Arizona for simply trying to defend themselves against a very real and dangerous foreign invasion, he would take seriously his responsibility to help protect them against this invasion, which Article IV. Section. 4. of the US Constitution clearly requires him to do.

ENOUGH!

A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

*********************

We have HAD IT … with the politicians running the US government today! To narrow it down, a bit, we are writing, most specifically, about the Socialist-Democrats in Congress and the Socialist-Marxist in the White House.

We, the American people, have been shut out of our own government. Legislation is now made behind closed doors, as our Congresspersons and Senators cut themselves off from the very folks they swore to represent.

Their arrogance and condescension is nauseating. Anyone questioning them is at risk of being made a fool of, in public, before his friends and neighbors. How DARE we question our “betters?”

They blatantly go against the will of the American people by passing laws that are flat-out against the American will.

They refuse to defend the country from those stealing across its borders to take up residence, illegally, and begin sucking up every dollar possible from the people’s treasury, which is administered by the same socialist-democrats who then swear they are doing everything they can do to secure the border. That, dear reader is a LIE!

Our current government consists of socialists, Marxists, communists, progressives, and a handful of pitiful, completely malleable, liberals, as well as the RINOS from the right side of the aisle. THESE are the people taking the United States down the tube to that vast sewer of failed socialist nations whose citizens bought the scam lock, stock, and barrel – just as the millions of naïve, hopelessly vacuous, elites from the political left are doing now, today, with the propaganda spewed forth by the legions of Obama supporters hell bent on crushing the American Constitutional Republic.

They MUST bring about the total collapse of America in order for them to remold America into a socialist/marxist/communist police state – a nightmare for freedom-loving people EVERYWHERE.

The freedom-loving people in the US had had it. They are shouting to Washington, and to the world, that they have had enough of American-style socialism and are taking a stand against it.

Unemployment in America continues to hover around ten percent. The stock market seems to have taken a plunge that may yet prove fatal to the national economy.

The national debt is soaring while Congress continues to spend wildly, having closed their ears to pleas from their constituents to stop the spending, and the borrowing, that will keep us in debt for generations of unborn Americans in the future.

Americans are angry – angrier than I have ever seen them in my nearly seven decades on the planet. They believe, and rightly so, their government is out of control. The facts certainly seem to bear them out.

A number of national grassroots movements (the best known is the Tea Party) have spread across America, like wildfire, as Americans, afraid of losing their country band together to fight for the preservation of their freedom and liberty and their constitutional republic.

The battle cry is “ENOUGH!”

Enough taxes.

Enough spending.

Enough borrowing.

We have had ENOUGH of their elitist arrogance.

We are sick to death of the left’s limp-wristed political correctness. Again, we say, ENOUGH!

Enough of the Globalists “Open Borders” policy! We want our borders secured. (And Obama can forget about amnesty for Illegal Aliens – unless, of course, he does it as a king would do it, as a dictator would do it: by executive order.)

We have had enough of the Democrat Party’s socialism/Marxism, communism, statism, collectivism, and progressivism in the Congress AND in the Oval Office.

We are fed up! We will not tolerate being pushed around by our very own government -- the one WE elected at the ballot box!

Again, and again, and again, we say: ENOUGH!

Understand, dear reader, WE ARE AMERICANS, DAMNIT! AMERICANS DO NOT TOLERATE THIS KIND OF GOVERNMENT! It is a threat to our liberty! It is a threat to our Freedom! It is a clear and present danger to our republic!

We MUST begin now to fight back -- all the way to the ballot box this coming November. We MUST purge our Congress of as many socialists, communists, Marxists, collectivists, Statists, progressives, and yes, liberals as are offered to us on the ballots.

We have NO CHOICE if America is to be rescued – if America is to be saved!

WHY DO I DISLIKE LIBERALS?

The genesis for this piece came as the result of a misunderstanding between myself and an associate. During a conversation they made a dramatic reaction to my statement to the effect, "I don't give any attention to mainstream media because I don't need the propaganda." After the reaction, I asked, "You aren't a bleeding liberal, are you?" To which they replied that I was all hung up on labels.

I then decided that I had better come up with a better reason as to why I didn't care much for liberals. Just saying, "They're a bunch of Jerks," or "They are all a bunch of ass holes," wasn't going to get it. The following is my effort.

( Or A Piss Ant Manifesto )

I assure you that I am not playing a game nor am I engaged in some ideological flight of fantasy. I have little time left and none of it for nonsense and games. As far as labeling goes, in my limited understanding of communication, not only my native language, but most of the languages of the world use words and word symbols to label and signify people, places and things. Aren’t labels used by the so-called “liberals” in an attempt to shame and identify those with whom they disagree? I seem to recall “Bigot”, “Redneck”, and “Fascist” being favorites. These words usually only meant “you are in our way and your ideas don’t count”.

In the interest of fairness, it is important to note that both the left and the right are guilty of manipulation of the language. None of these guys are innocent. The essence of the problem and the true offence is the utter contempt in which they hold for us.

Why do I dislike Liberals so much? For the same reason that I dislike hypocrites, phonies and frauds. Even criminals hate a liar and a thief. Before I go any further I need to clarify my understanding of the term used to distinguish people with a liberal ideology. When we look at the dictionary definition (thank you very much), of a liberal we are told that they are favorable to progress or reform. In reality the professed liberals work tirelessly to destroy and dismantle the fabric of society. The dictionary goes on; “favoring freedom of actions, open minded, tolerant, generous and in favor of maximum individual freedom secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.” Sounds pretty good, right? What’s not to like here? Perhaps the folks that I dislike intensely have been mislabeled. Are they Leftists? Marxist? Socialist? You think?

Let’s look at the behavior of these lost souls. They campaign, protest and lobby for tolerance of their beliefs and life-styles while working equally hard to destroy the life-style and belief system of those with which they disagree. For example:
A. Removal of all references to a supreme deity from any public place. The “liberals” have been successful in making it almost impossible to celebrate Christmas without censure in the name of not offending non-Christians while at the same time have made it possible for all forms of deviant behavior to parade before the public.

B. Liberal democracy a form of government based on limited majority rule. I guess that I must be a little dense on this one, how can it be termed a democracy and limit the will of the majority? I guess that explains why a relatively small segment of society can dictate school policy, federal mandates, state and local laws and impact the lives of the majority.

C. While claiming to be open minded, the “liberal” will reject and attempt to prohibit any and all expression of thought that is not part of their liberal ideology. They have made it possible for one to open an adult book store (porn store) within sight of a church or school but if anyone protests, they are in danger of being prosecuted for hate speech.

D. Freedom of religion has been perverted into freedom from religion. No prayer in school, that is no Judeao Christian prayer to be exact. Special accommodations are made for the frequent daily prayers of the followers of Islam.

E. I have often wondered how the liberals could justify and reconcile killing a baby as it was being born in the afternoon and then stand outside a prison all night for a candle light vigil to protest the execution of a convicted and admitted murderer. I now think I understand, they identify and relate to the murderer, they are kindred spirits. That was too easy. How could I have missed something that obvious?

My God, why can’t they see the results of their defective belief system and ill-conceived actions? Have they not been exposed to the history of the world? They do not seem to have the faintest understanding of natural law. They appear completely ignorant to the realities of cause and effect and seem to blatantly ignore the fact that ALL actions have consequences. If they could only be made to see the unintended consequences in all of these liberal actions. But that would require developing a manner of living that demanded rigorous honesty.

Liberals tend to fall into two categories: the ignorant and the evil. They both hide in the gray areas. Their ideology is not based on or backed by facts. Too general and simplistic you might say. Well, when you shine enough light on something there are no shadows. When you strip away the rhetoric etc. etc. everything is simple and specific. If one has a clear view and the mind is not clouded by erroneous and misguided thinking, there are no gray areas and everything becomes binary, True or false, black or white, yes or no. Remove all the rhetorical nonsense and illogical thinking and it is all true or false.

“Liberals” have a sound bite ideology but have no philosophy. *

Let’s first look at the first of these two categories; the ignorant. These unfortunate people have been seduced into a pattern of thinking that allows them to believe that they know what is best for everyone else. They seem to believe that personal liberty absolves them from any personal accountability. These so called “liberals” have sound bite ideology but have no philosophy. They work hard for change in the lives of others while striving to insure that their life is not affected. When questioned about their ideology, rather than respond with a coherent idea or concept they usually react by blaming Bush, the GOP, FOX News or the Oil Companies for all their misery. They whine on endlessly about utopia and how it ought to be and don’t have a clue about the realities of cause and effect. They much prefer to regurgitate the latest talking points generated by the NPR, Harry Reid and that deep thinker, Stuart Smalley. All hat and no cattle. This bunch of folks are really dangerous to the very fabric of society because they mean well and don’t have a clue, like a four year old in a crowded room with a loaded shotgun.

The second grouping is much easier to describe while being much more difficult to identify. Evil is always cunning, seductive and sly. These individuals know exactly what it is that they intend to accomplish. They are the elitists that intend to control and enslave all of humanity. They masquerade in the guise of “social liberals”. Do you need a history lesson for examples?

The liberal (or leftist or socialist) ideology promotes the assumption of self-assertion while tearing down the ideals of self-control or self-accountability. There is no error greater than that species of self-deception, which leads intelligent beings to crave the exercise of power over other beings for the purpose of depriving these persons of their natural liberties. The golden rule of human fairness cries out against all such fraud, unfairness, and selfishness. How dare anyone to encroach on the rights of their fellows in the name of promoting a self-serving “Liberal agenda”.

I hope that my rambling response in some way explains my behavior and perhaps give you a window into my personal philosophy. I am firm in my convictions and will remain loyal to my principles. I frankly do not know where you stand on these issues for we have never had “that discussion”. At least you now have a better idea of where I stand.

I will close with this offering: Reject any idea, concept or program that is not consistent with Goodness, Truth, and Beauty. This is a foolproof yardstick for evaluating any and all human thought and endeavor. Is it true? Is it Good? And is it Beautiful? If the answer to any of the questions is no or I’m not sure, then the idea being considered has not measured up and should be rejected.

* I also want to acknowledge the creative input of my Bro. Dave. He made the comment about the liberal’s lack of a philosophy that was the seed for this epistle. Any time that I have needed to do any serious digging, he has always been there to hold the light.

A Confederacy of Dunces

Send in the clowns

FDR once said "In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way."

The parties take turns sharing power and we think that things will be better. The political parties of a few decades ago, no longer exist. And in the last few decades we have seen the national debt spiral out of control, we have watched millions of jobs leave the US leaving us with massive unemployment. The list of high crimes and misdemeanors perpetrated by officials in high places is endless. And still, we have continued to vote lock step with the our chosen party.

But let us pause a moment and have a reality check. During the time when all of the "suits" in the picture were in office, we have been on a steady downward slide to the position we find ourselves in today. All have gone on record of vowing to stop America's dependence on foreign oil and our consumption has increased by billions of gallons. All have sworn to uphold the Constitution. All have pledged to serve We The People. During their reign we have had American Citizens held hostage for 444 days, entered into 5 wars, decreased our military, increased taxes, suffered numerous terrorist attacks and have watched our Constitution fed into the shredder.

It is my belief that within our government and its collective agencies there are truly venal and evil people, men and women who will stop at nothing to maintain hold on their power and control. They are as surely as evil as any of the despots in the history of the world. They crave the exercise of power over other beings for the purpose of depriving these persons of their natural liberties. To them, our lives mean nothing.

The forces of evil are so close to setting up their totalitarian rule in the United States that they are almost ready to throw off all pretense of legality and openly declare themselves. They can see the brass ring of power and total control almost within their grasp. Like a giant cancer their insidious evil influence has spread throughout in the gut of our great nation. Every branch of the government has been corrupted. It would appear that someone is behind the scene, pulling the strings.

We have just four months until, what might be the most important election in our life time. It is time we forget all party ties and focus on the individual qualifications of the candidate. What have they done? How have they voted in the past? Do they truly support Constitutionally Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility and Free Markets? Until we can focus on the real issues and stop trying to vote like grandpa, we are just going to be in for more of the same.

But that's just my opinion.......

SWEET TEA

Today, I am still energized from my first "real" Tea Party meeting. For quite a few months I have written about the Tea Party Movement and have encouraged others to get involved. To the right of my blog is a link that is supposed to connect you with a group in your area. Until recently, I have not been able to find an active group but this week my luck changed. I found a new list and registered as a new member with two groups, one in Mexico, Mo. and the other in Columbia, MO.

The meeting last night was so much more than I had hoped for. Everyone seemed to be keenly aware and deeply concerned about the disastrous state of affairs in our government. It was exciting to be in a room full of intelligent people of all ages who are committed to take back our country.

It was a two hour meeting and I was disappointed when it was over. So many informative topics were covered and discussed by knowledgeable and well informed patriots. I knew I was in the company of real Americans who truly love our Constitution with an almost evangelical reverence. It made me feel proud to be in their company.

If you are concerned about our loss of liberty and the socialist takeover of our country, I urge you to join with the growing ranks of common sense Americans and get with a grass roots group.

If you would like more information about what the Tea Party Movement is all about, give me a shout and I will be glad to hear from you.

http://teapartypatriots.org/Default.aspx

I am on fire. I am getting real busy meeting with people and helping to start a group in Fulton. It is amazing how many people are looking for direction, information and something that offers some ray of hope. It is becoming increasingly clear that we have only a few months until the LAST election, our final chance to derail the run-away train.

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe there is a political solution to the situation. I still know that we are entering the beginning of the final battle and I still remember how the movie ends but, Damn, it feels good to think that we can draw some serious political blood from the evil rat bastards.

Check out this guy, he is a new breed of political cat. Looks like a new crop of leaders are springing up all over the country. Makes the Tea Party smile.

Jim DeMint: Moving the Republican Brand to the Right

By Jay Newton-Small

U.S. Senator Jim DeMint

Senator Jim DeMint knows when a brand's gone bad and what to do to fix it. The South Carolina Republican spent more than 25 years in advertising before going into politics, and his demeanor - from the pin stripe suit to his salesman pitch delivered with a smile - has a Mad Men quality to it, almost as if Don Draper had been thrown forward 50 years and his only client was the Tea Party movement.

The Grand Ole Party's brand has been failing for some time, DeMint says in an interview at the Capitol Hill Club - an exclusive Washington institution for Republican members and Senators. "The angst was growing during the Clinton years, during the Bush years. And then the bailout was the wake up call," DeMint says. "The Tea Parties, they're just saying: 'Enough is enough.' The question is are Republicans going to open their arms and say, 'We're sorry we made a mistake, trust us again.' Or are they going to keep spit-balling them?"

For years, DeMint has been the Cassandra of the fiscal right, warning that his colleagues were ignoring their base on everything from No Child Left Behind and the Medicare Prescription Drug Program to the Bridge to Nowhere. Such gloom and doom - not to mention to DeMint's amazing capacity to single-handedly gum up the Senate when he objects to a spending bill - would in years past have earned him the chairmanship of the Subcommittee for Underwater Basket Weaving.

But this cycle, Jim DeMint is a prophet. "I think for most Republicans in the Senate the Tea Party is viewed as a threat; to me it's the cavalry I've been waiting for," DeMint says with a laugh.
And so, with his army at his back - an army that has given him more than $1 million to recruit potential lieutenants - DeMint set off to remake the Republican Party's brand. He had his political action committee rate all of his colleagues on their ideological purity; only one person scored 100, DeMint. His first target was one of the lowest scorers, Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter. Disgusted with Specter's betrayal on the stimulus bill and weary of fighting the ardent appropriator's earmarks, DeMint endorsed Specter's primary opponent, former Pennsylvania Rep. Pat Toomey. Five days later Specter left the Republican party, a victory in DeMint's book.

Next DeMint bucked the party establishment, which had lined up behind Florida Governor Charlie Crist to fill retiring Senator Mel Martinez's seat. DeMint endorsed little-known Marco Rubio, a former Florida Speaker of the House, and helped him raise more than $300,000. "Jim DeMint believed in me when the only people who believed in me lived in my house," Rubio told the annual Conservative Political Action Conference to a standing ovation and shouts of "DeMint for President!" Crist last month left the Republican Party to run as an Independent after polls showed Rubio beating him by more than 20 points in the GOP primary.

Support the Conservative Comeback.
Since then, DeMint has endorsed what he calls "rock-solid Republicans" in Senate GOP primaries in California, Texas, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky and Utah. None are the candidates his party leaders would prefer. "When the grassroots gravitate towards a candidate and that candidate is not supported by the leadership here, I do everything I can to get those candidates a voice and a platform so at least Republicans know that they have an alternative," DeMint says. Sometimes his efforts are successful, as with Rand Paul, who on Tuesday beat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's protégé, Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, to become the Republican nominee for the Senate in the Bluegrass State. Other times, he's not: his pick for the open Indiana Senate seat, Marlin Stutzman, lost to former Senator Dan Coats even after DeMint raised $200,000 for him.
For some Republicans, DeMint is fighting an ideological war at the expense of practical politics. He and his candidates are drawing millions away from the party, its committees and their candidates. DeMint's snowballing effort has frustrated Senator John Cornyn, charged with electing Republicans to the Senate. DeMint's goal "is to try and move the Republican conference in a more conservative direction," Cornyn told McClatchy Papers last week. "But I think as a pragmatic matter, we've got to nominate Republicans who can get elected in their states."

Is the former ad man starting a revolution? No, but he'll settle for five more Republicans like him in the Senate come November, a prospect that scares Democrats and worries some Republicans who see DeMint as an obstructionist. "Jim is trying to express the frustration that a lot of people feel and I think that's a healthy thing as long as we can come together after the primary," says the senior senator from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, also a Republican. "But somebody's got to fix immigration, somebody's got to fix Social Security. Somebody's got to do something about out long-term debt and that's going to require bipartisanship."

But, to DeMint, bipartisanship is not a slogan that's going to work for Republicans - or Democrats - in 2010.

The EPA can go to Hell, and I will go to Texas

29. May, 2010 Written by: Brian Roberts

Last week, the feds sent the Environmental Protection Agency out to harass the sovereign state of Texas. Texas needs to reclaim the spirit of Davy Crockett, when he famously proclaimed “you may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas”; and send the federal agency packing. Here’s why and how.

EPA’s Goal is Centralization of Power

By sending the EPA to Texas, the federal government’s goal is not environmental improvements. The goal is centralization of power. The tactic is to use the unelected bureaucrats of the EPA to increase Texas dependence on the federal government through arbitrary and economically crippling regulation.

Refinery permits are just tools that the EPA intends to use to control the Texas oil and gas industry. EPA control can force Texas into dependence in at least two ways. First, though excessive regulation of a major industry, economic growth will be stifled. This will create more state dependence on federal funds. Second, unnecessary EPA regulations will cost Texans jobs. This is will create individual dependence on welfare programs and since these programs include state mandated funding, Texas will be hit with additional liabilities.

The political problem for the EPA is that Texas’ common sense policies have resulted in cleaner air while maintaining one of the healthiest economies in our nation during the current recession. This Texas independence and success is why the feds will continue to financially attack Texas. A self-sustaining state is very problematic for a federal government that is trying to centralize all the power in Washington. So expect the relationship between the Texas state government and the U.S. government to increasingly deteriorate. Bill Hammond, president of the Texas Association of Business, had this to say about the political dilemma facing the EPA:

“Evidently, Texas’ success in improving both our environment and our economy, while Washington still argues about how to accomplish either, is something that EPA and the administration finds troubling.”

Proponents of centralized government will attempt to argue that Texas’ policies are causing the streets of New Orleans to smell like the morning after a frat party, or that pollution from Texas is causing smog in LA and NYC, or that the earth will be destroyed by the Texas carbon footprint. All of these arguments are ridiculous excuses designed to provide cover for a federal power grab. These straw man arguments do not in any way reflect reality.

Proponents of centralized government will argue that Texas should just roll over and take it because, they falsely proclaim: Texas needs federal subsidies. When in fact, Texas has been a donor state for decades and currently only gets back 94 cents for every dollar that is sent to Washington. Historical data shows that every year since 1981, Texas citizens have donated more to the federal government than what was received. The truth is that if Texas continues to roll over and take it, then at some point in the near future Texas will become dependent on federal money and require more back than what was put in, and that is certainly one of the goals of centralization.

The real battle, often hidden behind the propaganda, is between sovereign states seeking a level of independence guaranteed by the Constitution and a federal government that seeks to undermine the American system of federalism itself. Texas success is a powerful example that local, more decentralized government works best and for centralizers, that kind of example must be destroyed.

Texas’ Duty is Decentralization of Power

Texas should invoke the 10th and legally send the EPA back Washington D.C. where they can look for a lesser target to plunder. The tenth amendment guarantees a limited federal government and grants governing authority to states and to the people. Leaders in the Texas legislature and Governor Perry have responded with strong words against the EPA’s intrusion.

Governor Perry said this about the EPA’s actions:

“The Obama administration has taken yet another step in its campaign to harm our economy and impose federal control over Texas. On behalf of those Texans whose jobs are threatened by this latest overreach, and in defense of, not only our clean air program, but also our rights under the 10th Amendment, I am calling upon President Obama to rein in the EPA and instruct them to study our successful approach for recommended use elsewhere.”

Texas State Representative Wayne Christian had this to say:

“The EPA’s unilateral and unwarranted takeover of air quality permits in Texas further proves that the federal government has a clear disregard for the authority of the Texas Legislature and for the principle of federalism. Washington is seeking to command and control all sectors of economic activity. This action must not stand.”

It is apparent that Texas politicians and leaders understand that this is a federal power grab that should not be allowed to proceed. However, in recent times, leadership in Texas has been more about talking the talk and less about walking the walk. A recent example, still fresh on the minds of many Texans, is the hesitancy of the Governor to call a special session so that Texas might pass nullification legislation to protect its citizens from the unconstitutional mandates of Obamacare.

While this delay in legislation concerning health care may prove to be the proper course strategically, this may not be the case in the battle against the EPA’s permit consolidation. EPA’s regional administrator has indicated that Texas has “weeks, not years” before the EPA begins taking over the entire air-pollution permitting program. The time to act has arrived.

Texas leadership would do well to find inspiration in another Davy Crockett quote:

“I would rather be beaten and be a man than to be elected and be a little puppy dog. I have always supported measures and principles and not men. I have acted fearlessly and independent and I never will regret my course. I would rather be politically buried than to be hypocritically immortalized.”

The solution is straight forward: the state government of Texas should tell the EPA to go to hell. In practical terms this means that nullification legislation should be passed by the Texas legislature and signed by the Governor. This legislation, based on the tenth amendment, should declare federal mandates with regards to the Clean Air Act null and void in the state of Texas and should include penalties for federal agents or local law enforcement agents that attempt to enforce this federal law in the state of Texas.

In an age of rapid centralization of power in Washington DC, nullification legislation denying federal authority is becoming common. Various states have defied federal laws by passing legislation designed to nullify: federal healthcare laws, federal firearm laws, federal marijuana laws, federal identification laws, among others.

A BIG HAT OFF TO CHARLIE DANIELS

I hame not been a big fan of Charlie Daniels until today when an old friend sent me this. I may not like frantic fiddle music, but I am a devoted fan of Mr. Daniels now!
Chilidog
I don't know how everybody else feels about it, but to me I think Hispanic people in this country, legally or illegally, made a huge public relations mistake with their recent demonstrations.
I don't blame anybody in the world for wanting to come to the United States of America , as it is a truly wonderful place.

But when the first thing you do when you set foot on American soil is illegal it is flat out wrong and I don't care how many lala land left heads come out of the woodwork and start trying to give me sensitivity lessons.

I don't need sensitivity lessons, in fact I don't have any-thing against Mexicans! I just have something against criminals and anybody who comes into this country illegally is a criminal and if you don't believe it try coming into America from a foreign country without a passport and see how far you get. What disturbs me about the demonstrations is that it's tanta-mount to saying, "I am going to come into your country even if it means breaking your laws and there's nothing you can do about it."

It's an "in your face" action and speaking just for me, I don't like it one little bit and if there were a half dozen pairs of gonads in Washington bigger than English peas it wouldn't be happening.

Where are you, you bunch of lily livered, pantywaist, forked tongued, sorry excuses for defenders of The Constitution? Have you been drinking the water out of the Potomac again?

And even if you pass a bill on immigration it will probably be so pork laden and watered down that it won't mean anything anyway Besides, what good is another law going to do when you won't enforce the ones on the books now?

And what ever happened to the polls, guys? I thought you folks were the quintessential finger wetters. Well you sure ain't paying any attention to the polls this time because somewhere around eighty percent of Americans want some thing done about this mess, and mess it is and getting bigger everyday.

This is no longer a problem, it is a dilemma and headed for being a tragedy. Do you honestly think that what happened in France with the Muslims can't happen here when the businesses who hire these people finally run out of jobs and a few million disillusioned Hispanics take to the streets?

If you, Mr. President, Congressmen and Senators, knuckle under on this and refuse to do something meaningful it means that you care nothing for the kind of country your children and grand-children will inherit. But I guess that doesn't matter as long as you get re-elected.

Shame on you.

One of the big problems in America today is that if you have the nerve to say anything derogatory about any group of people (except Christians) you are going to be screamed at by the media and called a racist, a bigot and anything else they can think of to call you.

Well I've been pounded by the media before and I'm still rockin' and rollin' and when it comes to speaking the truth I fear not.

And the truth is that the gutless, gonadless, milksop politicians are just about to sell out the United States of America because they don't have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to face reality.

And reality is that we would never allow any other group of people to have 12 million illegal in this country and turn around and say, "Oh it's ok, ya'll can stay here if you'll just allow us to slap your wrist."

And I know that some of you who read this column are saying "Well what's wrong with that?"

I'll tell you what's wrong with it. These people could be from Mars as far as we know. We don't know who they are, where they are or what they're up to and the way the Congress is going we're not going to.

Does this make sense? Labor force you say? We already subsidize corporate agriculture as it is, must we subsidize their labor as well?

If these people were from Haiti would we be so fast to turn a blind eye to them or if they were from Somalia or Afghanistan ?

I think not.

All the media shows us are pictures of hard working Hispanics who have crossed the border just to try to better their life.

They don't show you pictures of the Feds rounding up members of MS 13, the violent gang who came across the same way the decent folks did. They don't tell you about the living conditions of the Mexican illegal some fat cat hired to pick his crop.

I want to make two predictions.

No. 1: This situation is going to grow and fester until it erupts in violence on our streets while the wimps in Washington drag their toes in the dirt and try to figure how many tons of political hay they can make to the acre.

No 2: Somebody is going to cross that border with some kind of weapon of mass destruction and set it off in a major American city after which there will be a backlash such as this country has never experienced and the Capitol building in Washington will probably tilt as Congressmen and Senators rush to the other side of the issue.

I don't know about you but I would love to see just one major politician stand up and say, "I don't care who I make mad and I don't care how many votes I lose, this is a desperate situation and I'm going to lead the fight to get it straightened out."

I don't blame anybody for wanting to come to America , but if you don't respect our immigration laws why should you respect any others?

And by the way, this is America and our flag has stars and stripes Please get that other one out of my face.

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

The once great star of the cartoon series, "Tweedy and Sylvester" spoke with reporters today in a rare public appearance for the reclusive star. Tweedy is best known for his signature line, "I taut I taw a puddy tat!" Today, Tweedy is, like so many actors, aged and a mere shadow of their former selves and living in near poverty conditions. And like so many older citizens, Tweedy too, has become cynical and bitter. Tweedy agreed to this rare interview to voice concerns and grievances over the new Obamacare.

"Dah lyin' muddreless somsabiches, da mess wid-dah ol folks! Da cut my Social squirty chek and den dey gets a raise and dey wants us ol folk ta jus die and go away. You take da no good wortless piece of dog dirt Obamacare and stick it where da sun don't chine!"

Much of the interview was a repeat of the same complaints and Tweedy would frequently doze off. Tweedy was visibly weakened from a poor diet and advanced years. When asked when was the last time a hot meal was served, Tweedy said, "Da food here is chit, be it hot or cold. Meals on wheels comes by wit hot chocolate and some cookies twice a week. Dats the best dey is and it's chit too!"

We wish there were some way to cheer up Tweedy and others in that situation but with the 260 billion cut back from the Social Security Fund and the lack of health care to seniors we can only hope that Tweedy can go peacefully in sleep.

THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE

Before I start poking him with that pitchfork, I must salute him for serving in Viet Nam and not bugging out to Canada or England, like Slick Willie Clinton. He was shot down and captured, imprisoned and tortured by the Viet Cong. As a former POW, he deserves our respect and gratitude. Now, having said that, I can get to what I want to say. Having been shot down in 1973 and spending 5.5 years in captivity does not give anyone a free pass for the rest of their life, nor does it erase our collective memories of past behaviors.

Years ago, when I first became aware of John McCain, my first impression of him was to compare him to the character in the film Manchurian Candidate. The Manchurian Candidate was a novel written by Richard Condon. It was also made into a movie in 1962 and again in 2004. It is about the son of a political family in the US who has been brainwashed after being kidnapped and taken to Manchuria. John McCain's father and grandfather were both four star Navy Admirals and like the character in the story, John entered political life on his release from prison in North Viet Nam.

The self-proclaimed maverick politician, John McCain, has made a carrier of working both sides of the aisle and well as both sides of the issue du jure. He has repeatedly reversed his professed positions and compromised purported core principles. He has changed sides as the political conditions dictated. Some might suspect, all to stay in power and further a progressive agenda.

McCain, who has set the standard for flip-flops with no less than ten acrobatic flips in two weeks. Even John Kerry is envious of this record. McCain has retreated from, upended or just forgotten positions he once claimed as his own.

In recent days, in his fight to stay in office, McCain, once the champion of amnesty legislation and for a fast track path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, is now pushing for a crackdown on illegals. Our country is being flooded by illegal aliens from all parts of the globe as well as Latin America. Now that illegal immigration is a hot emotional issue for Arizonans, Flipper, is doing back flips in the hopes that the people of Arizona will be dazed by his gymnastics and forget all the waffles he has served up in his over two decades as senator.

When he lies, his jaw starts to swell.

During his failed bid for the White House in 2008, McCain made it clear that he had distanced himself from the conservative wing of his party. Now, he claims to be a "born-again" conservative, wanting to repeal Roe v. Wade, Don't ask - Don't tell, and calls for the restoration of State's Rights.

I don't have a vote in the upcoming Arizona election and don't know that much about his opponent, Mr. J. D. Hayworth, but I do believe almost anyone would be an improvement over McCain.

Unless we are suffering from a collective amnesia we can't ignore the established facts of McCain's carrier of playing to the leftist media and flipping whichever way the political wind blows. What we don't know about the "Real McCain" is what he genuinely stands for. And like the Manchurian Candidate, he seems to always have a hidden agenda.

THE UNDISPUTED KING OF THE HYPOCRITES

The unchallenged and undisputed reigning king of the hypocrites, the former President Bill Clinton had the temerity to sermonize Americans yesterday. The master of lies and deceit warned of the slippery slope of angry anti-government rhetoric. Mr. "what Is, is" had the gall to pound the podium and point at We the People and say, "the words we use really do matter."

I have been really lax in keeping up with postings for this blog for a variety of reasons, mainly I was growing weary of finding new ways of saying that we are in deep doo-doo and our acting president is a commie/socialist/muslum/liar. I have not been inspired to write anything, sorry! If I were a real writer I could blame it on writers block or some such excuse.

Then this morning, while I was perusing the Drudge Report I saw this picture of the "Slickster" and curiosity got the best of me. I knew that he and James Carville had teamed up to launch a dirty tricks campaign on the Tea Party Movement and was looking for the real reason for his deep concern for truth, justice and the American way. After I read it I was really steamed and knew what I wanted to say. I am much calmer now and will attempt to say it in a more polite and civil manner, after all, "the words we use really do matter."

Read the article: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20100416/D9F4EPUO0.html

As usual, the "Slippery One" delivered a masterpiece performance and a sermonette that would have made Elmer Gantry embarrassed. Using the technique that has been labeled "Clintonesque," he managed to dish out praise and make belittling remarks in the same comment. "I'm glad they're fighting over health care and everything else. Let them have at it. But I think that all you have to do is read the paper every day to see how many people there are who are deeply, deeply troubled," he said.

The propaganda master goes on to say; "What we learned from Oklahoma City is not that we should gag each other or that we should reduce our passion for the positions we hold - but that the words we use really do matter, because there's this vast echo chamber, and they go across space and they fall on the serious and the delirious alike. They fall on the connected and the unhinged alike."

I totally get it. I knew when I started to read Clinton's comments that it would anger me. I knew that his remarks would be aimed at casting anyone protesting against the government as "delirious" and "unhinged" and therefore dangerous.

He besmirched the Tea Party Movement when he alluded to the anti-government tea party movement, which held protests in several states Thursday, April 15. At the Washington rally, Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota railed against "gangster government."Make that all 50 states, Mr. Ex-president.

The truck bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City was a horrendous crime and a despicable act by any standards. The actions of a deranged individual, Timothy McVeigh, was in direct response to the Waco massacre where the Clinton Whitehouse ordered the slaughter of 82 men, women and children. The same administration that sanctioned the assignations of women and children at Ruby Ridge. Anyone who cares to study the personal history of William Jefferson Clinton will find a trail of mysterious death that run from Washington D.C. to Mena, AR., from Ruby Ridge to Waco.

I whole heartedly agree, "words really do matter" but so do actions. We the People are angry at our "gangster government" for their total disregard for the Constitution that they are sworn to follow and protect. We are angry at the corruption and greed that has become the warp and woof of the fabric of the Federal Government. We are incensed that elected officials hold We the People is such contempt. We are angry that our elected servants no longer represent the people but serve special interests and our protests fall on deaf ears.

I do find some consolation in reading the smear article about Mr. Bill's comments, it proves to me that the Tea Party Movement is starting to get under their skin. I hope that we continue like a swarm of chiggers to get under their skin until we make their life miserable!

And I don't mean that in no bad way, after all, words do matter.

Guests of Vlad the Impaler

Greetings dear reader,

I have been under the weather and not up to my usual caustic curmudgionness. (It's ok, I think I just made a word.) I have been less than inspired and have resorted to referring to the insightful writing of others. Thanks for your patients and enjoy the substitutions.

Dear Reader:

This is the kind of writing that makes Alan Caruba stand out from the multitude of Conservative commentators in the press and on the Internet today. Alan is insightful. He probes deeper than most. Plus, his wit is as sharp as a double-edged sword.

Alan’s abilities as a wordsmith are unsurpassed. Once you read his article below, I’ll bet you will agree with me – and -- be ready to add a few superlatives, describing Mr. Caruba’s writings, yourself.

Alan has studied Mr. Obama and his administration and with the accuracy of a laser is able to cut through the layers upon layers of propaganda to offer his readers an analysis of the Obama Administration unmatched anywhere else on the web.

We are proud to offer the piece below to our readers, especially during this time of tribulation in America.

Please scroll down and read Mr. Caruba’s comments below.

Thanks.

Guests of Vlad the Impaler

By Alan Caruba

*******************

Lately I have been reading and hearing a lot of psychoanalysis of Barack Hussein Obama and it reflects a growing need by pundits and regular folks to figure him out.
The reason is obvious. We are all now the guests of Vlad the Impaler, version 2.0.
As several million unemployed already know, he doesn’t give a rat’s patoot about what it’s like to not have a salary, not have health care coverage, and not be able to make the mortgage or car payment.

Having been abandoned by his birth father, his step-father, and finally by his mother, Barack figured out how to bottle up all that anger, put on a happy face, and pay back America for failing him.
Obama has lived a virtually invisible life whereby no one who ever attended college with him recalls him. He taught at the University of Chicago and not one student has ever come forward to acknowledge having been in one of his classes. Among the friends he did choose, all shared a common theme of hatred for America. If there is a paper trail, it has been carefully sequestered, out of reach, sealed.

Less than a year and a half into his first and, hopefully, last term, all the polls including those of the mainstream media show that people don’t merely “disapprove” of his performance in office, they are seriously worried whether he should even be in office.

If you don’t like America, Barack Hussein Obama knows exactly how you feel and why.
All this was on display throughout the campaign, up to and including delusions of grandeur and omnipotence that in any other setting would have instantly identified him as a mental case. “Yes, we can” shouted the crowd.
What they got, however, was the biggest collection of left-wing nut-jobs one could gather in one spot; most of them designated “czars” and exempt from any investigation by Congress.

Communists, dedicated socialists, weird “scientists” who think reducing the population is the only way to save the Earth; others who think we should abandon all the traditional and known energy sources that keep the lights on and the cars rolling in favor of windmills, solar panels; and bicycles. You know, crazy people!
We got a kind of machine politics that hasn’t been seen in Washington, D.C. since the early days and years of the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration when the Great Depression so frightened people they were willing to watch the federal government expand in ways that were never intended. From time to time, the Supreme Court would staunch the flood of horrid legislation. FDR’s answer was to try to “pack” the court by expanding it.
Today, we have witnessed a Democrat-controlled Congress that just passed a huge “reform” of the nation’s healthcare industries, effectively destroying the relative handful of insurance companies that provided coverage.

With healthcare now under government control and virtually every other commercial and financial activity to suffer the same fate, it is only time before everyone will be issued an ID card to control everything one does.
Where in the Constitution is the federal government authorized to literally own an automobile manufacturer destroyed by its own unions? An insurance company that was so big it was not allowed to fail despite billions in bad transactions? Why, in fact, is the federal government in the business of buying and selling housing mortgages?

For most of the beginning of his first year in office, Obama was everywhere on television, granting interviews to reporters who listened in amazement at his detachment from the reality of the economy. “Are you punch drunk?” asked Steve Kroft of Sixty Minutes. Bret Beir of Fox News fought to keep him focused on the questions being asked.
People swiftly noticed he could not speak extemporaneously. Without the Tele-Prompters, he lost the aura of being all knowing and all seeing. It became a joke. A response to a simple question about taxes recently elicited a rambling 17-minute “answer” that made everyone listening wonder why he could not deliver a simple answer.
And then there are the critical, unanswered questions that will not go away.

Where was he born? Hawaii? Okay, but his father was a British subject, a citizen of Kenya, so rule out his eligibility to be president. Why won’t he produce a real birth certificate? Why are his university records unavailable? What nation’s passport did he travel on when he visited, of all places, Pakistan? Questions, questions, questions.
There is the growing fear that he is not eligible to hold the office, but he has already named one Supreme Court judge and will soon appoint another. He is issuing executive orders. He is signing laws.
In my life, I saw Richard M. Nixon driven from office for official misconduct resulting from the Watergate scandal. I saw Bill Clinton survive impeachment despite having broken several laws that would have put most people in jail.
It is hard to get rid of a really bad president. It may prove harder to get rid of an imposter, a provocateur, a revenge-filled destroyer of the economy and the nation.
I saw this all before he won the office, wrote about it then and wrote about it since. If I did, others did. Indeed, some wrote entire books about it.
So why has no court in America demanded that Barack Hussein Obama produce a birth certificate or any other proof of eligibility?

If a cover-up got Nixon booted and both a real estate deal and a sexual dalliance with a White House intern merited a special prosecutor for Clinton, when doesn’t this question rise to a point of critical concern for the nation?

I’m very proud of my daughter Dakota. She is a 17-year old high school senior who has been home-schooled since birth- literally. She has never seen the inside of a classroom. The results? She has attained perfect SAT test scores; has become a world-class athlete (representing her country at World Cup fencing events); she gave her dad’s nomination speech for President of the United States live on C-Span at the age of 16; and she puts her dad- and every politician in America- to shame with levels of intelligence and common sense rarely seen within the city limits of Washington D.C. Her college choices? She has applied to the best Ivy League colleges in America- including 7 of the Top 10 highest rated (as ranked by U.S. News & World Report)- including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Chicago, Columbia, Penn, Brown, and Duke.

But it is her political views that I believe America desperately needs to hear. Dakota and I watched the evening news together the last few nights- now there’s something you’d only hear from a home-school family. Her observations led me to realize that no one in Washington D.C. has either the intelligence or commonsense of a 12th grader. Now there’s a great new TV game show concept- pitting teenagers against Congressmen! The winners should get to run the country. I’m betting on the teens.

Dakota’s first thought was so simple it was brilliant. We watched a news story on the failing U.S. Postal Service and its projected $200 billion shortfall over the next decade. Their brilliant solution: ending Saturday mail delivery. Dakota remarked, “But dad, they did not even mention cutting jobs, or cutting salaries, or reducing pensions, or making retirees pay something for their own health care? This is nothing but a band-aid. It will never work.” A 12th grader figured it all out. I propose putting Dakota Root in charge of the U.S. Postal Service. Trust me, it could only produce a dramatic improvement.

Next up: Healthcare reform. Dakota and I together watched the news that Congress had just passed the historic Obamacare bill. Dakota had a few crucial questions that no one in Washington bothered to answer. “Dad, why would we hand healthcare to the same people (government) that have managed the Postal Service into bankruptcy? How is it possible that the same people that are projecting over $200 billion in losses for the postal service will now run healthcare without losing billions…or trillions? If free healthcare for retirees of the postal service is busting the budget, how can we afford free healthcare for everyone? How can we add over 30 million new people to the healthcare rolls without adding trillions of dollars in cost? Also, where has universal healthcare been a successful program? If our medical system is so terrible now, why do Canadian citizens come here for treatment? This whole bill defies reason. Someone is obviously lying to us.”

Dakota was just getting warmed up: “Dad, if government-run healthcare really lowers costs, how come Massachusetts is experiencing gigantic healthcare increases after the government took over? If government knows how to keep costs down, why do New York and New Jersey have the strictest government regulation over healthcare in the nation, and also the highest health insurance rates in the country- DOUBLE the national average? Wouldn’t that suggest that our national rates will also double after the government takes over? Did they just say that the new healthcare bill gives more power to the I.R.S.? Why would anyone want the I.R.S. to have more control over our lives?” Why indeed.

Then Dakota cut to the heart of the welfare…oops I mean healthcare issue…she asked, “Dad, I heard Obama himself say that Medicare and Medicaid are in fact threatening to eat up our entire federal budget and bankrupt our country. Since Medicare and Medicaid are already run by the government, why would President Obama want the government to take over the entire healthcare industry? Wouldn’t that bankrupt our country even faster? Also why would anyone believe the same politicians who have mismanaged the budget? If government were a private sector business, wouldn’t we fire these politicians?”

Fire them? Dakota’s dad thinks we should put them all in prison for fraud, mismanagement, and theft of taxpayer money.

But wait, Dakota wasn’t through just yet. She had a few more observations for the spineless, brainless politicians in Washington DC. “Our government is running a deficit approaching $2 Trillion…we have a $12 Trillion national debt…we obviously don’t have any more money to spend. So why is President Obama pushing for one of the most expensive government programs in history, during the middle of the worst economic recession since the Great Depression? My generation, and every following generation, is responsible for paying this bill, but we haven’t even been asked if we accept this crushing burden of debt.”

Dakota headed for the finish line with the gold medal question: “Dad, is any of this constitutional? Where in the Constitution does it mention healthcare? Where does the Constitution state that government can force Americans to buy health insurance, thereby handing billions of dollars in profits to private companies? Are any of these companies that will benefit, by gaining 30 million new customers, perhaps campaign contributors to President Obama? Why is that legal?”

Why indeed. Dakota Root for President.

THE SMELLER'S THE FELLER!

That's what we used to say in grade school when someone made a face and complained about the toxic aroma of a recent flatulence. And we would laugh and point at the complainer. It was an effective strategy for eleven and twelve year old boys then and a common tactic used by evil doers today when they are confronted with facts concerning their behavior.

The first one to play the race card is the racists, it never fails. Right now the commie/Marxist/leftist/Demonrats are combating their dreaded enemy, Truth! They have openly declared war on the Tea Party Movement. They called in the Sewer Rats, Slick Willie Clinton and James Snakehead Carville to wage a dirty tricks campaign on the Tea Party Movement. And never to be left out of a good mudslinging propaganda war of lies and deception, the Main Stream Media was quick to get into the act.

If you listened to the talking heads at MSNBC, CNN and NPR they would have you believe that the TPM is just a bunch of illiterate redneck Christian racists and not to be taken too seriously. Of the recent rally against Hapless Harry in his home berg of Searchlight, NV. the MSM reported that an unruly mob of approximately 700 protested. There were in fact over10,000 and in spite of much anger and resentment toward Mr. Reid, there were no incidents of violence.

The lying rat bastards are trying to portray the Tea Party Movement as being from the very fringe of society. They, who claim to be so sensitive, caring and opposed to any form of "hate" speech, are quick to call We the People names like; redneck and racist and have compared us to the anti-segregationists that marched in the 50's. We have been portrayed as inarticulate, potentially violent and merely Republicans in sheep's clothing or disgruntled pockets of conservatives blindly lashing out at a left-handed President Obama.

As for stereotypes, they're convenient and often catchy, especially for liberals who are hooked on sound-bites. But not necessarily true.

Fact Check: From The Los Angeles Times, April 5, 2010 Andrew Malcom

Now, comes a pair of polls, including Gallup, that paint a revealing detailed portrait of Tea Party supporters in most ways as pretty average Americans. A Sunday poll -- actually three national phone surveys of 1,000 registered voters -- found that 17% of all polled, or more than 500, called themselves "part of the Tea Party movement."

"It's a good sample size," David Winston, polling director of the Winston Group that did the poll for an education advocacy group, told the Ballot Box blog of The Hill newspaper.

The Tea Party adherents broke down 28% independent, 17% Democrat and only 57% Republican. Not coincidentally, this bipartisan breakdown has been the way that Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin has often described movement members as "commonsense Americans" worried and....

...angered by the over-reaching one-party control of Democrats in Washington these last 15 months, rooted initially in opposition to Obama's $787 billion government economic stimulus package.

A new Gallup Poll out this morning of 1,033 finds nothing fringe about self-proclaimed Tea Party adherents; they are slightly more likely to be employed, male and definitely more conservative. But otherwise Gallup's Lydia Saad writes, "their age, educational background, employment status, and race -- Tea Partiers are quite representative of the public at large."

While economic issues like stubbornly high unemployment rates and declining home values cause widespread worries, Winston found top issues among the self-identified Tea Party followers are jobs/the economy and the exploding federal deficit. A whopping 95% told pollsters that Washington "Democrats are taxing, spending and borrowing too much."

Fully 87% told Gallup they oppose Obama's healthcare legislation.

The Winston poll says 80% of total Tea Party supporters dislike Obama's job performance, a higher negative rate even than the 77% of Republicans who disapprove of the ex-state senator's White House work.

We have a long way to go before November and so much to do. We the People of the Tea Party Movement are truly the "commonsense Americans" and we want to take back what belong to us. It was given to us by our forefathers and God Almighty!

MY FAVORITE LIBERAL

Yeah, I know, the title is a oxymoron to be sure. But Liberal hasn't always been a bad word. The evil doers have always tried to put on airs of respectability and in the process many of our words have become perverted and their meaning has been distorted.

Dean Alfange was born to Greek parents in Istanbul, Turkey, which was then called Constantinople. His family immigrated to the United States while he was an infant and he was raised in upstate New York. After serving in the Army in World War I, he went to Hamilton College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. After receiving a law degree from Columbia University, he opened a practice in Manhattan.

Mr. Alfange was active in ethnic organizations and civic groups. In 1940, after several years as leader of the American Labor Party, he was made chairman of the Democratic foreign-language speakers' bureau in President Franklin D. Roosevelt's third election campaign. Dean Alfange, ran unsuccessfully for governor of New York in 1942 as a candidate of the Labor Party and then two years later was a leader in the forming of the Liberal Party.

During his life he changed his affiliations among the state's parties, holding nominations or appointments through the Democrats and Republicans, as well as the Liberals and the American Labor Party. A casual glance at Mr. Alfange's biography might suggest that he was a Liberal in the contemporary sense but read his "American Creed" and judge for yourself.

An American Creed

I do not choose to be a common man.
It is my right to be uncommon ….
If I can. I seek opportunity … Not security.

I do not wish to be a kept citizen,
Humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.
I want to take the calculated risk;
To dream and to build,
To fail and succeed.

I refuse to barter incentive for a dole.
I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence;
The thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia.

I will not trade freedom for beneficence,
Nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any master nor bend
to any threat.

It is my heritage to stand erect,
proud and unafraid; to think and act for myself,
Enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say: “This I have done.
All this is what it means to be an American”.

Dean Alfange

Mr. Alfange died at 91, in 1989. His creed is as timely today as it was when he wrote it. It was originally published in This Week Magazine. Later reprinted in The Reader’s Digest, October 1952, and January 1954.
