GOT TEA? LET'S PARTY!

Today is a day to celebrate! The 27th of February is considered the start of the Tea party by many. The idea started way before that but since that day several key elections have been or will be decided because of the movement. RINO Leftist Dade Scozzafava's hopes of voting with the Demonrats was capsized when by the tea party support of Doug Hoffman. In Florida, conservative Marco Rubio has come from being 30 points down to RINO governor Charlie Crist only a few months ago to now poll 1 points ahead.

In a little over a year, the Tea Party Movement has grown from an idea to a mighty national army of citizens on the move that is striking terror in the black hearts of charlatans, liars and thieves on both sides of the aisle. A mighty army with no generals, just We the People.

A thousand lies cannot defeat one truth and that one great truth is that a vast left wing conspiracy cannot stop it. The idea that We the People are waking up from our lethargy and complacency and we have had enough and we want our country back. We have had enough of the lies and promises of a socialist utopia and like our founders, we choose Liberty.

All across the land, Tea Party groups have sprung up like mushrooms after a spring rain. The Movement is growing daily and its influence is being felt in the halls of government. Career politicians are opting to retire rather than be embarrassed at the polls in November. Still others are trying to move back to the center. After the decisive and surprising win in Massachusetts, the power of the Tea Party Movement cannot be ignored.

Both political parties have been corrupted by greed and the lust for power. Neither the GOP or the Democrat party resemble the party of our fathers. Over the past few decades, the Constitution has all but been fed into the shredder and our Federal Government is out of control. The only thing stopping big government from doing whatever they want and taking whatever they want, is public opinion.

The Tea Party Movement is still grass roots, small and compartmentalized. In thousands of towns around the country, people are at their kitchen tables with their children making signs and banners. Millions of our neighbors are on the phone, texting and emailing the information. The Tea Party is not a third party nor does it plan to be. While totally grassroots, the tea party has momentum, principles and they vote. Politicians from both parties have become intoxicated on power and are willing to sell their souls to the highest bidder to stay in power.

Today is another small milestone in our country's history but a giant leap for mankind. We the people are taking our country back. Forget what party your family has always been and remember that we are all Americans first. We can all agree of some basic ideas; Fiscal Responsibility, stop spending my grandkids money, Limited Government, let the people decide what we need, and a Free Market, let the natural laws of supply and demand operate without restrictions or subsidies. Let the small business entrepreneur loose to grow and to prosper.

I urge anyone interested in the future of our Republic to get involved. Click on the Tea Party Search in the right column and get with a group. If you don't understand what this is all about, welcome to the club. Most of us have had to re-learn basic civics lessons. Ask questions, they have answers and there are those who are willing to mentor recovering victims of a public school education.

Things to do today:

Get off your donkey and get involved. Contact a Tea Party group in your area.

Un-fair and Off-Ballance

I am a misplaced Texan, I love the Republic of Texas and no matter where I roam, Texas will always be my adopted home. I didn't have the good fortune to be born a native son. I am a Texan by choice. In all the 50 states (or is it 57 now?) there is no state like it.

The last few months I have watched the rise in popularity of Debra Medina in her challenge of two GOP "big names" for the office of the Governor. By all local polls Debra Medina was the clear and decisive winner in both of the debates. She, like Scott Brown, is coming from way behind and rising rapidly in the poles. How can this be? She has no experience in elected office. She is only a rancher, a former nurse, a wife and a mother, a small business owner, a teacher and she loves her country. Sound like anyone you know? In her run for the office of governor, her battle cry is "We the Texans." She is one of the people and her common sense message is resonating with the voters.

A week or so ago a friend and I were talking about Debra Medina's rise and speculating that she was to be the next "Scott Brown". My buddy, ever the consummate cynic, said that, "the establishment is terrified of her. They will find some foul evil trick to sabotage her success. They can't let her win even if they have to kill someone. Wouldn't be the first time."

Just what exactly are they so afraid of? Is the truth finally sinking in. We are really sick and tired of the lying ratbastards in Washington. We have had it with the giant confidence game being played on We the People. The Big Con could not exist without their shills, the talking heads and empty suits in the main stream media. We have been coned into thinking that it is a them or us situation. We like to cheer for the boys and girls at FOX and demonize the folks on MSNBC or CNN or ABC or CBS or vice versa. Without regard for which side of the argument you choose, you have been had. The only thing that approaches fair and balanced is the ratings between FOX and the others. FOX constantly has as many viewers as the other four networks combined, so it works out about equal.

Reality check:

Think back a few years. Remember when the Swift Boat vets who had served with John Kerry tried to bring some truth into the discussion and how F & B (fraud and bull) Bill O'Reilly ridiculed them and refused to have them on the show? Okay, then how about when the fake documents were presented about George W.'s military record was promoted by Dan Rather and O'Reilly steadfastly supported the lie and the liar. CBS was embarrassed and Dan Rather resigned in disgrace. But Bill O'Reilly keeps on looking out for you.

When the fraudulent Obama comes along, O'Reilly again holds to the party line and refused to discuss honest questions about why all of Obama's records are sealed. All fair questions; like where was he born, who funded his trips to Pakistan when the U.S. State Department forbidden U.S. Citizens from traveling there, and where is proof of almost any of his personal history. Instead of asking those questions when he had Barry Hussein on his program he fawned over him. At one point I thought sure they would embrace and kiss like lovers. Any time there are really tough issues to be addressed O'Reilly crawls into his shell like the mollusk he is.

And then there is the Ober Beckman, he is worse than O'Reilly. Here is a man without a principal or if he does he ain't showing us what it might be. One show he is suggesting that the Third Reich is about to take over Spokane and in the next program he is anti-abortion and in the next he is the abortion. He pretends to be a conservative and then engages in the most vile form of ambush "journalism" I have seen in a long time.

As I said in a previous post, Glen Beck is a Judas Goat. Do you really think that Glen Becks and the Keith Obermans are that different? Both are committed to stirring the fires of discontent with each side accusing the other of all sorts of crimes and misdemeanors. The game is to incite anger and hostility between the right and the left. The big con is to keep us thinking that if "our side can win" things will be better. They enjoy a symbiotic relationship where both parties are corporate entities whose very survival is based on keeping a rabid base fired up.

If you have nothing else to do and want to be angered or amused, then go ahead and watch these shills at work but beware, they will lead you down the garden path. If you expect them to give you the truth, you need to see me, I have a really good deal on a bridge in New York.

Presidents Day

"Such being the impressions under which I have, in obedience to the public summons, repaired to the present station, it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being, who rules over the universe, who presides in the council of nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that His benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the people of the United States.."

"...Every step by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation, seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency."

From President George Washington's Inaugural Address, April 30th, 1789, addressed to both Houses of Congress.

Monday, February 15th is Presidents day. The first President of our country and the father of our republic, George Washington was born on Feb. 22, 1732. Now his birthday has been moved to the third Monday of February to make it more convenient for a three day holiday for Bank and Government Employees. If that wasn't bad enough, Washington's birthday is now sandwiched in with some another president's birthday. (A few words about The Real Lincoln at a later date.)

Back in the good old days we used to celebrate the birthday of the father of our country and it was a special day. We sang songs and we were proud of George Washington. He was First in war; he led the first continental army to victory over the British, First in Peace; he negotiated the surrender that ended the Revolution and helped to lead our fledgling colony on to forge a new nation, The United States of America. He was unanimously elected as our first president 1798 and became First in the hearts of his countrymen. (ok, boys and girls, back in the day, we didn't need to say his or her countrypersons. We all knew who we were and didn't need someone to remind us of our humanity.)

The revisionist history books in the schools today barely give any mention to our founding fathers. George Washington is given only passing mention as the first president. We are no longer told the inspiring stories of our country's beginning and our fight to live in freedom. The very founding principles and values that guided and led our founders have been suppress and edited out of the new texts. The truly great men and women who literally put their lives and everything that they possessed on the line to create our great country has been edited out of their new history of the United States.

In the winter of 1776, the war for our independence had suffered many significant and humiliating defeats and Washington's army was "broken and dispirited." They were sick, hungry and poorly equipped and thousands of the troops gave up and went home. To make matters worse, the war was losing support among the people. In the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, it appeared that war was already over, that the Americans could never defeat the 32,000 British and Hessians mercenaries that they faced. But Washington refused to be intimidated or defeated.

It was at this time that Thomas Paine write a pamphlet called "The American Crisis" with those immortal opening lines:

"These are the times that try men' souls. The summer soldier and sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country' but he that stands now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman."

Paine's pamphlet spread like wildfire and Washington's army began to grow as new recruits enlisted. Washington knew that he needed to take the initiative and strike an aggressive and surprising blow. He made the decision to risk everything by quietly crossing the Delaware River to attack a key Hessian outpost at Trenton, New Jersey.

On Christmas day 1776 Washington marched his army to the river in a freezing rain and by 11 P.M. a full-blown nor'easter struck with hail, snow and wind. Ice on the river slowed the crossing and only a third of the army successfully made it across. They were three hours behind schedule. Despite the losses, in spite of the weather and his diminished forces, spirits were high and Washington decided to go forward with the attack. Washington's marching order and the password that night was "Liberty or Death".

In broad daylight, the Hessians were taken by surprise. Within 45 minutes, 21 Hessians were killed, 90 wounded and about 900 were taken as prisoners. Only four of Washington's troops were wounded in battle and two soldiers froze to death during the march. The British were stunned. They were a vastly superior military force and not accustomed to such defeats, especially by a volunteer army made up of mostly poorly trained and under-equipped farmers and tradesmen. The course of history had suddenly, miraculously it seemed, been changed because a small band of determined men and their leader.

While the war would continue for another six and a half years, the short decisive battle of Trenton proved to be the pivot point in our war for independence.

In Washington's address to the Constitutional Convention 1787, he said: "Without a humble imitation of the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, we can never hope to be a happy nation."

Judas Goat

I listened to Glen Beck for the last time the other day, only because a friend sent me a clip of his savaging of Debra Medina, a candidate for the Governor of Texas and a Tea Party activists. Even for a long time non-fan of the Beck, I must admit I was shocked. I was surprised at Beck's bait and switch tactic and then his venomous attack. He twisted her answer and used it to ridicule and belittle her. She must really scare the stuff out of him for him to respond so sarcastically. I think that the Tea Party is starting to get to them.

I first started to listen to Beck on FM and then when he moved to Radio Right on XM I would listen to him for about an hour each day, before the Laura Ingram show. He was entertaining and amusing as he had clearly not lost his Early Morning FM Shock Jock style, lots of flash and little substance.

I lost confidence when he went over to the Dark side, when he signed with CNN for major bucks. Don't get me wrong, I am all in favor of the free market system but as far as I am concerned, he declared what he was and now we were just haggling price. His move to FOX News caused a bit of a stir and it caused a few to speculate that he had come to his senses. This was not to be the case.

Time for a Reality check! Time to take a look at the big confidence game that is being run on America. Let's look at a few facts of life. Glen Beck, Oprah and Bill O'Riley and Hannity , Jon Stewart, Greta, Keith Oberman and Chris Mathews all have the same thing in common, they are entertainers. Their stock in trade is emotions. If they can cause the viewer to laugh or cry or better still, get really angry and hating someone, then they have had a successful program. They are not journalists. If you get your news from them then you are guilty of gross intellectual sloth. They only give you an opinion about a topic of their choosing.

Both parties are corporate entities whose very survival is based on keeping a rabid base fired up and contributing dollars. Neither wants to commit suicide or kill off the other because without a villain, their contributors no longer need them.

For decades we have been seduced into believing that the two party system was our only option. Any attempt of a third party came under vigorous attacked by both parties. The Main Stream Media, and yes, that's FOX News too, are co-conspirators in this con game. Without the help of the Media they would not be able to mislead us and keep us fighting among our selves.

Do you think the Tea Party movement has the establishment talking heads a little scared? The two party right/left, black/white paradigm is shifting rapidly. The Tea Party did not wither and fade after the stunning success of Scott Brown. On the contrary, the Tea Party is growing and gaining momentum and the November elections are just seven months away.

And as far as it goes for Mr. Beck, he has shown that he is nothing more than a Judas Goat. In spite of all the good things that Glen Beck has to say he is still a tool, just like his opposite number, Chris Mathews or Oberman. They are all tools and if we take them seriously, we are the fools. I don't know about you, but I sick and tired of all their manipulating con game.

Shame on You, Shame on Me.

To say we have the worst president in history might be one of the grossest understatements in the history of the republic. He is so inept at administration, leadership and basic understanding of government that Jimmy Carter has been forced to relinquish his title as the worst president, his only claim to fame. But for all of our hissing and moaning and complaining we are forced to admit that we have the president that the majority of Americans wanted. I didn't want him and neither did you, but enough of our neighbors wanted him that we are stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

People all across the country are starting to wake up and some of us are really very angry. We are angry that we have been bamboozled by a slick Chicago street hustler that can read from a teleprompter a speech written by others. We become furious when we realize that we have been hoodwinked into buying into the promise of something for nothing. Some of us let our anger over our feeling of betrayal by George W. to blind us to the seductive con game being run on the American people by the next lying bastard.

Many of us are angry and frustrated that we have an electorate that is totally ignorant of history and blind to the laws of cause and effect. A voting population that has been dumbed down by a dysfunctional educational system to the point that they are completely ignorant of the values and principles of our founding mothers and fathers.

In his most eloquent article, The Last Days Of The Republic?, J. D. Longstreet wrote; "How did it happen? Well, those who would turn America into a Socialist Utopia used the very democratic process, in which Americans pride themselves, to execute a brilliant coup de tat and take over the US government. And they did it in plain sight, right before our eyes.

"In a democratic nation the risk of electing a dictator, is always there, lurking in the shadows. All it takes is a bad mistake at the polls by freedom loving people misled by slick, smooth, oratory and, let us not forget, the promise or the implication of… something for nothing. I cannot overemphasize the importance of the electorate’s ignorance. It is my belief that ignorance played the largest role in the election of Obama to the presidency of the US than any other single causation.

"In a mad rush to the polls to elect the nation’s first “black” President, everything else was overlooked. Important things like Obama’s socialist leanings, his obvious preference of Muslims over those of the Jewish faith, his bent toward collectivism, Marxism, and his penchant for a “command and control” economy for the US. None of this mattered to those ignorant of history, ignorant of the philosophies espoused by and believed in by Mr. Obama. No, what was MOST important to them was the election of America’s first black president, whatever the cost.

"Well, the bill has come due. The cost? The cost was only our country – only the republic."

(Please read the rest of this wonderful commentary by J. D. Longstreet, at:

http://teapartyamerica.blogspot.com/2010/02/last-days-of-republic.html

A casual study of the rise and fall of the great civilizations of the world will show that their fall began from within. They became weak and lazy and blind to their own condition until it was too late and they collapsed under the weight of their own debt. History will also show that none of the great civilizations on the world has ever recovered from such a fall. Too little of their former greatness was left for them to recover and they slipped into history.

The United States is in that spot today. Like the boiled frog, we have been lulled into a dull state of complacency. We have been seduced by the false sense of security from decades of lies and deceit. Most of the electorate don't participate in the process much less know or understand the issue at stake. And if they vote at all, they can't tell you why other than to quote some party talking point or to say that "Our family has always been ....... "

Is it too late to revive our fallen republic? Our once great ship of state has lost its moral compass and has drifted off course and is taking on water faster than we can pump it out. Do we have enough of the fighting spirit of our founding fathers and mothers to take back our country? Can we once again stand on our hind legs and spit in the devil's eye?

I believe the answer is a resounding Yes! All across the country, like Rip Van Winkle, people are waking up from their long nap of complacency and saying in a united voice, "We've had it with big government and we're tired of the wasteful spending. We are tired of Washington's intrusion into our daily lives, we've had it with repressive policies that undermine our basic freedoms. " Our list of grievances all seem to be directed at Big Government. Many of us are waking up to the fact that we don't know how much power We the People still possess. The Massachusetts Miracle was more than a wake-up call to the Democrats and Republicans. Scott Browns win demonstrated the power of We the People to defeat the great political machines and throw off their strangle hold.

The Tea Party Movement is now making its presence felt more than ever. Even the main stream media is forced to recognize the Tea Party as a Movement. The elitist left can no longer dismiss the Great Awakening as a bunch of angry red necks. The fruitcake spin misters on the left have become more shrill in their attacks on the really good decent people who are standing up and demanding that we be a free country once again.

During the Super-Bowl half-time show some of us old rock-n-rollers enjoyed the listening to the Who. It is really great to see our generation jumping around like they were 65 again. I close with a few lines from their "Won't Get Fooled Again";

"And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get folled again
Don't get fooled again,
No, No!

Who Is this Man?

General George Washington defeated General Cornwallis in the final battle of the Revolutionary War, our struggle for freedom from the oppressive rule of King George of England. The Articles of Capitulation were signed on October 19, 1781 and since that day, no United States of America president has ever bowed to anyone but the people that they have sworn to serve. Even our generals and diplomats, while observing the rules of protocol, do not bow to Dictators, Emperors or Kings. They stand erect and salute or offer a hand shake, but bow, Never!

We now have a kowtow in chief who seems to delight in assuming a servile posture whenever he gets a chance and yet scoffs at the Constitution of the country he has sworn to protect. He is either the most ignorant and naive person to hold a high office or he is Public Enemy Number One.

Let's look at what we know about Barak Hussein Obama's history and his record. This is a difficult task because much of his personal history is hidden and sealed from public view. We do know that he has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to block attempts to open these records. Why? What is he hiding? His health records are sealed from childhood to the present day. His educational records are sealed from childhood through law school. Why? (Note: I have intentionally not mentioned his proof of birth to avoid being labeled a "birther" by the commie rat bastards that are in love with him.) One week before the 2008 election, the liberal journalist Tom Browkaw said, "There's a lot about him we don't know."

It is known that when he arrived in New York in June of 1981 without enough money to get a hotel room, but one month later flew to Indonesia and Pakistan. Why did he go? Who paid his expenses? He traveled to Pakistan when it was illegal for U.S. citizens to do so. How did he pull that off without some pretty heavy assistance? What country's passport did he use? It is known that Obama was mentored by and still is supported by radical Muslims.

His Law School Admission Test scores and grades at Columbia University are known to have been mediocre, but he was admitted to Harvard Law School through the intervention of a Saudi named Khalid al Mansour. This Saudi prince has given Harvard tens of millions dollars.

He has claimed to be a Christian but decided that the White House would not participate in our National Day of Prayer, yet helped usher in the Muslim celebration of Ramadan with a traditional "iftar" dinner at the White House last September. When this fraud spoke at Georgetown University in the spring of 09, he directed that the university cover up Christian symbols. He is a so-called Christian who can quote from the Quran with a proper Arabic accent, yet mocks our Christian Bible. (See this one on YouTube, and hear the arrogant, sarcastic mocking from the mouth of this President himself.) A man who wanted Americans to ignore his Muslim name during his election campaign, yet boasts of his Muslim name when he travels to Muslim countries.

As President, he decreed that true acts of terrorism must now be described as "man- made disasters". And as President, he stood silent while the Iranian government hacked unarmed protesters to death with axes, because it was an internal matter, but he freely offers his opinions about the internal affairs of Israel and Honduras.

Since the Undie-bombers failed attempt to blow up the plane on Christmas there has been an increase in Al Qaida chatter about a massive attack on Western Culture, the United States in particular. They boast of a secret weapon that will bring down the Great Satan, the United States.

Based on his track record, Berry Hussein Hopenchange, seems to fit that description. His behavior before and after his election to the presidency have demonstrated his contempt for the United States, the Constitution and for We the People. While claiming to be the great humanitarian, he has undermined and attacked the very core values that made our country great.

I ain't sayin', I'm just sayin', Could he be the Jihadist secret weapon?

Super Bowl goes Political

The Super Bowl is said to be the most celebrated day in the United States and it is not even a holiday. The stores are selling out of all of our favorite snacks and treats. More people will gather together to eat, drink and be festive than on any other day of the year. It is also a great day for watching the best commercial offerings of the year and at 3 million dollars a pop for a thirty second spot they better be good.

This year the big buzz is all about the Focus On The Family commercial. For the last two weeks if you were to do a Google search for the Florida All-Star Quarterback, Tim Tebow, you would get several pages of hits about the controversial commercial. Without ever being shown or before anyone of us lays an eye on it the commercial has gained national attention. I have not seen it either but have read that it features Tim Tebow and his mother. Apparently it is a very powerful pro-life message and that is why over 30 organizations have protested its airing.

Before I get in the middle of a liberal bashing rant, let's see what the dictionary has to say about these pin heads. The dictionary says of liberal; “favoring freedom of actions, open minded, tolerant, generous and in favor of maximum individual freedom secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.” Sounds pretty good, right? What’s not to like here? Perhaps the folks that I dislike intensely have been mislabeled. Are they Leftists? Marxist? Socialist? You think? Oh, yes, I got it now, Progressives. Now don't that sound better?

Let’s look at the behavior of these lost souls. They campaign, protest and lobby for tolerance of their beliefs and life-styles while working equally hard to destroy the life-style and belief system of those with which they disagree. For example:

• Removal of all references to a supreme deity from any public place. The “liberals” have been successful in making it almost impossible to celebrate Christmas without censure in the name of not offending non-Christians while at the same time have made it possible for all forms of deviant behavior to parade before the public.

• While claiming to be open minded, the “liberal” will reject and attempt to prohibit any and all expression of thought that is not part of their liberal ideology. They have made it possible for one to open an adult book store (porn store) within sight of a church or school but if anyone protests, they are in danger of being prosecuted for hate speech.

• Freedom of religion has been perverted into freedom from religion. No prayer in school, that is no Judeao Christian prayer to be exact. Special accommodations are made for the frequent daily prayers of the followers of Islam.

• I have often wondered how the liberals could justify and reconcile killing a baby as it was being born in the afternoon and then stand outside a prison all night for a candle light vigil to protest the execution of a convicted and admitted murderer. I now think I understand, they identify and relate to the murderer, they are kindred spirits. That was too easy. How could I have missed something that obvious?

My God, why can’t they see the results of their defective belief system and ill-conceived actions? Have they not been exposed to the history of the world? They do not seem to have the faintest understanding of natural law. They appear completely ignorant to the realities of cause and effect and seem to blatantly ignore the fact that ALL actions have consequences. If they could only be made to see the unintended consequences in all of these liberal actions. But that would require developing a manner of living that demanded rigorous honesty, a vital character attribute which they all seem to be lacking.

If I am asked if I am Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, I must confess that I am both. I am definitely for life but I resent being told that I don't have a choice about my own life. The nature of liberty is having the freedom to fail and to succeeded, to make good choices as well as bad ones. Hats off to the network for allowing the commercial to be shown. The first amendment to the Constitution is for everyone, even those with whom you disagree.

Oh, by the way, there will be a really Super Football game on Sunday. Enjoy, eat hearty and enjoy the company of your friends.

Handwriting On The Wall

MENE, MENE, TEKEL,UPHARSEN "You have been weighed in the balances and are found wanting." (Daniel, 5-25-26)

In other words, we took your inventory and you came up short and now We the People are going to foreclose on your cushy Congressional seat. This indictment crosses party lines and has struck terror into the black hearts of both the DemoRats and the neo-con RINOS. Any elected office holder who is not in a drunken stupor or suffering from dementia, is very aware that the winds of change are blowing down the halls of government. We have been promised change, but this was not what they had in mind.

The aftershock of the Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia elections are still reverberating and rattling the bullet proof windows in Washington. Like rats leaving a sinking ship, several congressmen have decided this is a good time to retire. After a few town hall meetings and a thoughtful review of their poll numbers, it would seem to be a wise choice. Many of the hard core true believer Socialists/Communists/Progressives /whatever DemoRats have crept back underground to continue gnawing at the remaining shreds of the Constitution. They are the cancer that appears to be in remission.

The Tea Party movement has had way more impact on elected officials than anyone dreamed. True enough it is a bunch of angry old farts that are fed up, but the movement is so much more. It is truly we the people and the sentiments expressed by the act of throwing the tea in the bay is at the core of our liberty. The Tea Party is a spontaneous movement and cuts across party lines and touches the hearts of people of all ages and in all walks of life. We the People are feeling the weight of an oppressive government and like our forefathers, we yearn to be free.

The Constitution of the United States is a beautiful document, probably the most beautiful government documents in existence. Its principal function was to set limits on what the government could and could not do. The authors of the constitution intended to limit the power of the Federal Government and to insure that We the People would be free to pursue our own lives. Over the last one hundred years the Constitution has been modified and amended and ignored to the point that it no longer serves its original purpose, quite the contrary, it is now a device for controlling We the People while the big Government and the bloated bureaucracies are only limited by what we will stand for. It feels totally out of control and seems that the only thing that is stand between us and total bondage is the elected politicians fear of what we will do in November.

Saw an article the other day where Uncle Newtie wants the Tea Party to come under his Big Tent. I like Uncle Newtie, I really do. He is one of the few political leaders that is not a lawyer and he has the skills of a great teacher in articulating sensible solutions to complex problems. I love his strategies, I just don't understand his tactics. It looks like he spends way too much time trying to cozy up to the libtards. I don't understand his Gingrich-Sharpton world tour or his playing footsie with Blinkie, the Botox queen while jumping on Al Gore's band wagon. When he hooked up with Pelosi to pimp for the Goricle, I had to let him go. It's not just a lie, it's a big fat lie and the Cap and Trade agreement is giving the world the keys to your house, your bank book and letting them have your kids. If he hasn't done his homework on that one (Climate Change) then he doesn't deserve the presidency any more than you or me. If he has, then he is a conspirator or a collaborator.

The wussy pants progressive-wannabe neo-con RINO's are running for cover or wanting to come in out of the cold. While the DemoRats are trying to salvage their pet pork producing projects the neo-con Republicans are leaping into denial. They will all swear that they were against it before they were for it or variations on that theme. Pundits and pollsters are predicting big changes in the 2010 election cycle with another 10 seats in question. The pollster John Zogby said, "If the elections were held today, the Republicans could come close to winning back the Senate, if not actually win it." And Dick Morris, politico extraordinaire boldly states; I am making a prediction right now that the Republican Party will take both houses of Congress" in 2010.

And has anyone noticed that CNN has started to moderate their position? I haven't noticed because I haven't noticed anything about CNN since FOX news came on the scene. Check out this little gem, Jack Cafferty, in a special report about frivolous spending by congress had this to say about the Speaker of the House, (of ill repute). He said; "she's a horrible woman"! Couldn't agree more. Are real journalists coming out of hiding and daring to actually report the facts and not the station policy position. Do you think the shift in CNN policy has anything to do with their reading the handwriting on the wall or maybe it is just their terrible ratings.

I hope I don't sound like a GOP cheerleader. The only thing farther from the truth would be a DemRat cheerleader. I am not now nor have I ever been committed to either party. Neither party resembles the party of a few decades ago, both have become corrupted by greed and graft. I am a republican the same way Ron Paul is a republican. I believe that I am a Libertarian and support the restoration of our Constitution. I think a majority of Americans don't identify with either party and consider themselves to be Independent. If you feel that you are an independent and are not too sure where you land on the political spectrum, I urge you to take the easy 10 question political quiz in the "Check This Out" column at the right.

Seasons Greetings

Happy Groundhog Day. Or "seasoned greetings", as we sometimes say in our tribe. In my family of origin, Groundhogs day always had a festive feel to it. The traditional food for GHD is biscuits and sausage gravy, what else. What a wonderful way to start an otherwise dreary winter day. The kitchen would be hot from the oven and the smell of the gravy wafting from the big black iron skillet would have lifted the spirits of Job. There would be plenty of biscuits for butter and homemade apple butter or strawberry rhubarb jam. With a breakfast like that and you want to do it every morning, just like in Bill Murray in the Groundhogs Day movie.

My family has a custom of celebrating the second of February as a special day. Ledged has it that it started with my mother and her aunt Maud about 90 years ago. They would make greetings cards and each would try to be the first to wish each other "Seasons Greetings". Growing up, we kids got into the act and we often made cards. I remember going on a commando mission, sneaking across the back yards the night before to stick a "Seasons Greetings" card in my great aunts front door to be found early the next morning.

I don't remember ever thinking too much about whether the ground hog saw his shadow or not. We really knew that was nonsense and no matter what the ground saw or didn't see, we were going to have six weeks or 42 more days of winter.

This morning we has a large skillet of ground hog gravy and a pile of hot biscuits with butter and homemade applesauce on the side. And as was to be expected, my oldest son called to offer holiday salutations. While we were chatting he commented on the absurdity of the PITA's pathetic protest of the prostituting of Punxsutawney Phil, the ground hog and wanting to replace him with a mechanical robot. Get outta here. Phil, the pampered marmot from Punxsutawney, PA. is one of the most pampered critters around. He has the life of a fat house cat and he only has to "work" for five minutes a year. How unethical is that?

My son brought up something that I had not considered. He said, "Aren't these folks supposed to be "Green" and into the environment? How do they square the idea of replacing Punxsutawney Phil, a warm blooded furry critter, with a robot?" The mechanical replacement would require countless hours of research and development, the use of precious materials that are needed elsewhere. Think of all the diodes, sensors, servo motors and microchips that would be required not to mention the environment damaging batteries. In their haste to save Phil from his life of leisure and security, they neglected to do an environmental impact study. I'm sure that now that Groundhogs day is past they will get around to it.

These air-heads PITA nut jobs seem to go totally bats when they think that someone is having fun. If there is a critter involved they get so steamed up that their brains squirt out their nose like milk bubbles. They don't make any sense and seem to only be content if they can piss on someone's parade. Don't get me wrong, I like animals a lot. I even have been known to love a few of them, but I have always been able to tell the difference between a critter and a human being. I need to cool down now and go put some left-over biscuits in the microwave and heat up the left-over gravy, yummm.
