We Are Not Alone #10

Venal and evil people are seizing control of the world. Every year they are closer to attaining their goal of having dominion over all the people of the planet. This is not a new or recent goal, they have been focused and committed to their evil plans for centuries. Now, for the first time, in the twenty-first century their goals seem to be attainable on a global scale. In the past they have been able to enslave whole civilizations to serve their ruling elite. But always in the past, their plans were thwarted by opposing forces or by natural calamity.

From a previous chapter I have suggested that one of the reasons that our visitors have not made contact with us is that Earth has been quarantined and is isolated from the rest of universe.

Quarantined: Earth has been quarantined because it is infected with a social disease. Earth is contaminated with the deadly virus of self-aggrandizement and greed at the expense of most of the positive qualities necessary to develop a viable and lasting civilization. The deadly disease has spread and is enslaving the entire planet. This dreaded affliction of power and control appears to be highly contagious. (From #8)

There was a war in Heaven. "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angles fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angles." Revelation 12:7

Note: To all you atheists, agnostics and liberials; before you get your panties in a wad, just calm yourself and try to get through this with as much of an open mind as you can muster. I am not trying to tell you how to believe or what to think. I am only posing ideas and suggesting possibilities, so stop sputtering. The same advice goes to the religious zealots. Take a deep breath and remind yourself that neither you nor your faith are under attack by me. If I don't have the story just the way you read it, that it's ok. I encourage everyone to lighten up, relax and color outside the lines for a while.

Theologians and Biblical scholars generally agree that Lucifer was a Divine being of a very high order and that he was a brilliant leader with a distinguished career. But in his vainglorious mind he began to weave his plans, spinning a web of delusion that would ensnare a host of hapless trusting creatures. It is believed that one third of the celestial being under his command were hopelessly entangled by Lucifer's deceitful scheme.

Self assertion was the battle cry of the Lucifer Rebellion. Of the hosts to default was our own planetary administrator who cast his lot with Lucifer. The poison of rebellion was contagious and much of the staff of angels assigned to Earth followed their chief into darkness and default and our world was quarantined. We have been cut off and isolated from the rest of the universe.

When Jesus said "Get thee behind me, Satan", He ended the active reign of Lucifer. Jesus terminated the rebellion not as the Sovereign of his creation but as a tired, hungry and thirsty mortal, alone in the wilderness. The evil ones no longer had the power to enter the minds of mortals unless they were invited. A host of daemons were stranded when Earth was quarantined awaiting the final day of judgment. They still roam our world, pursuing Lucifer's nefarious plan of enslaving all the people or the world. They are active today and seem to be getting closer to their goal.

Fiction writers have used this story as a theme for their work. From J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, to George Lucas they have used this story as the basis for their entertaining works of fiction. It is a plot line with which we all are quite familiar. Scores of novelists have written about the duality of human nature and the constant struggle between our good side and our dark side.

Throughout the history of the world, all of the major civilizations have had one thing in common, and that is their goal of enslaving the people to serve their masters, the ruling elite. The ancient Greeks, for all of their wonderful contributions to civilization, believed that no Greek Citizen should ever work and all physical labor was the job of slaves. The once mighty Roman empire collapsed when they became weakened and their subjects revolted. The only thing left of the Egyptian culture are the spectacular monuments that were built by enslaved peoples. There are modern examples of thoroughly evil people's attempts to take over the world. Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin were two recent examples of power-mad statist despots, hell bent on world domination in the name of social change and reform. They both were responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of forced laborers, (slaves) and destroying anyone they imagined might be in their way.

The cult of evil that is intent on dominating all the peoples of the world is not dominated by single personalities. It is not controlled by any one group of individuals but rather an insidious mind set. They are not bound by any time table or confined to any one generation. The vile despots and dictators that we love to vilify and blame, come and go but the cancer of rebellion grows and spreads. Their goals are long term and far reaching. When evil appears to take a step back in defeat, it merely morphs into a new form, hiding behind some humanitarian cause. Behind the new mask of respectability it takes two steps forward. For an example, The League of Nations was considered to be a dismal failure so it was disbanded only to re-form into the bigger, stronger United Nations.

The war in Heaven was terminated about two thousand years ago in the wilderness in Palestine. But we are still contaminated with the deadly virus of self-aggrandizement and greed. Self-assertion is still the order of the day. Now, more than ever in the history of the planet, all the governments of the world appear to be cesspools of corruption and greed. The Globalist have their tentacles in almost every aspect of our lives and our Declaration of Independence and The Bill of Rights have been rendered all but impotent and no longer protects We the People.

If I am going to hate something, I must learn to hate intelligently. It is vital that I know as much as possible about that thing. The Chinese philosopher, Sun Tzu said, "If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril."

It is important for me to know what is going on around me even though I am powerless to do anything about it. I must learn to accept the things that I can't change, but I am not required to approve of them.

I need to remember that Politics are only the anecdotes of history. I know that the Creator's plan for this planet shall not fail. A day is coming soon when all the "evil doers" will be weighed in the balance and be found wanting. Until then, Keep the Faith, but keep your powder dry.

We Are Not Alone, #9

"We have not been visited by others because the distances are too great", is often used by the pessimists as an argument against visitors from other worlds. If the human race had accepted all the limitations placed on us down through the ages, we would still be huddled in caves, beating on rocks and complaining that we were never gonna' get basic cable. For thousands of years we "knew" that the world was flat, we "knew" that the sun and the stars revolved around Earth. Just because we haven't mastered a new technology, let's not place our limitations on others who may be thousands or millions of years older and more advanced than we.

For thousands of years man believed the best way to get from A to B was to walk. Then someone decided that if we can catch one of those beasts and make it behave, then we could ride and get there quicker and we began to domesticate animals. For centuries if we wanted to travel from A to B we were stuck with the wheel and the sail. Eventually someone noticed that if you make water real hot the steam would produce enough energy to blow the lid off the pot and a way was found to harness the steam and the steam engine gave birth to the industrial revolution.

Behold the bumble bee. According to the greatest minds in science. The bumble bee is too short, too fat and its wings are too small, it simply can't fly. Aerodynamics says it is impossible. The most powerful computers in the world all come to the same conclusion, it can't fly. So how is it that we see these marvelous wee creatures buzzing about? Simple, they ignore the great minds, the skeptics and the super computers and it goes about the business of being a bee. Its little bee brain doesn't accept the limitations that have been placed on it and it flies.

Richard Bach wrote in his great novel, ILLUSIONS; "Argue your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours." Where would we be as a society if some stubborn oppositional people hadn't challenged the conventional wisdom of their day? Two bicycle mechanics from Ohio, ignored the experts and built a flying machine and Orville and Wilbur gave the world air travel. A housekeeper in Montgomery, AL. refused to move and give her seat to a white passenger, and Rosa Parks became known as the Mother of the Modern Civil Rights Movement, helping to abolish the cruel Jim Crow laws.

The skeptic says; "We have not been visited by others because the distances are too great". Let's explore that. Do we believe that we are the pinnacle of evolution and that we are the end-all of universal knowledge? Do we think that they too are stuck with our internal combustion engines and rocket technology? The United States is now planning a new lunar mission in preparation for a manned mission to Mars in a few years. Although that is a giant step for mankind on earth, it might look like baby steps to our older brothers. Using the best of the best, NASA says that it will take 214 days to reach Mars. A few years ago, an un-manned probe reached the moon in the record breaking time of 8 hour and 35 minutes. The Apollo missions took about 76 hours to reach the moon.

Our nearest neighbor, a star system that could have planets similar to earth is the Alpha Centauri System. It is approximately 4.4 light years from earth; or if we could travel at the speed of light it would take us four years and about five months. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. At the speed of light it would take about 5.5 hours to travel across our solar system. The distance that light travels in one year is 5.9 trillion miles and it takes 8.3 minutes for light from the sun to reach the earth.

I have already gotten myself in way over my head. Science has always fascinated me even If I wasn't very good at it. I think it has something to do with my lack of focus or my dislike for mathematics. I am not a scientist and don't want to mislead you into thinking that I know more than I actually do. All of these impressive numbers are available to any and all with a simple web search. I can't begin to get my head around the actual distances that one would need to travel to visit our nearest neighbor. But what I do know, is that just 75 years ago, most scientist believed that to go faster than the speed of sound would be impossible. This arbitrary barrier was officially broken by Chuck Yeager on October 14, 1947 as he piloted the Bell X-1 aircraft, flying at a speed in excess of 761 mph at an altitude of 45,000 ft.

Today, scientists are accelerating particles to near the speed of light with the Large Hadron Collider in an attempt to unlock the secrets of the "deepest laws of nature." Several physicist are claiming to have found loopholes in quantum theory, a general theory of how particles fit together to create matter. Scientists are questioning Einstein's theory of relativity and are once again stretching and expanding our knowledge of our universe. Perhaps we too, are on the eve of developing a new source of energy. Our combined scientific knowledge doubles every few years and that rate is increasing so let's just cool our jets a minute and concede that the guys next door just might have some of the big problems already figured out.

That is not too hard to imagine. On a clear day I can travel at the speed of thought to some faraway place and never leave the room.

We Are Not Alone, #8

We Are Not Alone #8

Ok, back on the job, the visits and feasting are over for a while. I have a lot of topics that I want to work on; Several examples of where we as a culture have gotten into hot water. If anyone has any ideas, please don't be bashful and help stir the pot. Any ideas are welcome.

Meanwhile, back at the "Are We Alone" topic. I will now be calling this series of posts, "We are Not Alone."

There seems to be a growing acceptance for the possibility of intelligent life on other worlds. From a scientific point of view, there is a growing consensus to the probabilities of live developing on "Billions of such worlds". The secular community has become more accepting of the likelihood that our Creator has created a universe full of beings in "His own image".

As for the topic of visitors to our world, there is a mass of documentation of sightings by qualified observers and an equal amount of evidence that government agencies have suppressed reports and suppressed serious inquiry. This combined mountain of data should be enough to sway even the most devout skeptic but still there are those that for a variety of reasons continue to doubt. Some seem to be holding on to the idea that the Earth is still the center of the Creation and that somehow their religious beliefs are challenged. Many are skeptical purely on the grounds that they haven't seen a UFO and they ask the question: "If they are real, why don't they stop and make contact?" or "Even if there is life on other worlds, the distances are too great to overcome".

First, let's look at the question, "Why, don't they stop and make contact?" There are several reasons that come quickly to mind. And since there is no definitive scientific document to say otherwise, I am just as qualified as the next to speculate. Our governments can lock up the books but they can't prevent us from thinking and wondering, questioning and speculating and drawing our own conclusions. Here is some grist for the mill:

1. Self-preservation: Simply, we try to shoot them from the sky. We chase them with our jets and we can assume that we have tried to shoot them down. Because of the government gag orders, we don't know if the Air Force has been successful or not in downing any UFO, only that they deny their existence. Human kind has a history of trying to destroy anything that it doesn't understand and is fearful of.

2. Quarantined: Earth has been quarantined because it is infected with a social disease, the disease of rebelion.

3. Tourist Attraction: Perhaps Earth is a evolutionary cul de sac and we are just another Road Side Attraction. To the visitors from deep space, that are much further advanced and obviously posses technologies far superior to anything we have discovered yet, may have no more interest in making contact with us than we would on a trip to the zoo. We look at the monkeys and laugh and throw peanuts but we don't attempt to engage them in any meaningful discourse.

4. Earth is a Holy Place: As mentioned in earlier posts, almost all of the major civilizations of the world have some ancient legends of Gods from the stars. Our modern western culture celebrate the bestowal of a Son of God to our world. In the United States over 60% make some claims to being a Christian. Although there are scores of different Christian religions with differing and divergent ideas there are a few facts on which they all agree; Jesus, the Son of God the Father, was born a man, lived as we live and was nailed to a cross to die. He rose from the dead and returned to his home in the heavens, to rule his vast creation. Earth is the planet of the Cross and is a Holy Place, a spiritual Shrine, and probably a destination for cosmic pilgrims. The motives of our visitors have nothing to do with the savage inhabitants of Earth.

5. Maybe we have had contact. We don't really know if they have made significant contact or not. We know from public records that our government has suppressed any information regarding UFOs and ETs for decades and we can assume that other countries have similar policies. What if they were to make contact? Who would they choose to be their liaison with the inhabitants of our world? Would they fall for the old B-movie line; "Take me to your leader"? Would they contact the Pentagon or the Pope?

The visitors to earth from other worlds clearly demonstrate knowledge and use of science and technologies far advanced of anything we are only dreaming of. They appear to have mastered the limitations of time and distance, and maybe even eternal life. Think of the implications. What would we as a country, any country, do with this information?

Bottom line: Get real, do we really think that we are civilized enough to handle it? Don't we still need to master that "Love thy neighbor" thing first?

Stainless Blue Sky

"But there were no rooms to be had,
There was only a stable
hewn from rock, coarse and crude,
but comfortable beyond measure
to desperate pilgrims with no place to lay their heads.

The following day
as the noontide sun peaked high
in the stainless blue sky
a crystal luminosity enveloped Bethlehem
and silent to mortal ears
celestial seraphim burst into singing hymns of praise.
A refreshing wind blew a mysterious spiritual fragrance
over the lands and the waters of Earth.

Joshua ben Joseph
Jesus the Christ was born.
Tiny and helpless
in a cradle-manger
lay the Creator Son . . .
The cherished and adored Son of God."

At this very special time of the year many cultures and religions sects join together, with loved ones, forgetting their differences and celebrate the birth of the Christ Child. Although Biblical Scholars and historians cannot agree on the exact date of the birth of Jesus, a date was chosen to celebrate Christmas, or the Mass of Christ. The date December 25 is believed to have been chosen to coincided with the historical Roman festival of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. It occurs on December 21 in the northern hemisphere and signals a time when the days start to become longer, a re-birth of the Sun. The birth of Jesus, was the birth of a God/Man who came to our troubled and rebellion torn planet Earth to deliver us from all evil, give peace that passes all understanding and the offer of eternal life.

Whether you believe this story or not, pause for a moment and let your mind go free. For a minute, just imagine the possibilities. What if it this story is true?

"We are children of one Father,
We're brothers and sisters too.
If you love your neighbor truly
Love and peace will come to you."

Another Boiling Pot

There are several groups who are intent on ruling the world besides Pinkie and the Brain. These groups, while being completely different in their origin and composition, share one common goal; The complete and total domination of all the peoples of the world. They hide behind banners of religion or seemingly noble causes like world hunger, free trade or saving the environment but their real goal is to rule the world. They hide behind a skillfully crafted facade of respectably while they plot and scheme. Behind the carefully woven curtain of deceit is a hideous monster that is slowly sucking the life and liberty out of free people everywhere. It is slowly turning up the heat and we the people have fallen into a fitful stupor.

A common characteristic of these groups is that they are toughly evil (*) and committed to their long term goal of world domination. Unlike the Hitlers and Stalins of the world, they take their time and make long range plans. They are content to make small incremental changes. As long as they continue to take a few steps forward in advancing their plan, they are content with their progress for they have all the time in the world, They have been at this for generations or even centuries and mark their progress by knowing that they are bigger and stronger today than they were yesterday and therefore closer to their goal. Whether they use the stick or the carrot in furthering their goals they are making alarming progress and the water in the boiling pot is starting to steam.

A really good example of this is a U. N. policy paper from 1991. This document was prepared for the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) by professor Ignacy Sachs, a self-described "ecosocioeconomist". He outlines a strategy for the transfer of wealth in the name of the environment to be implemented in the course of 35 to 40 years. This visionary paper describes the phase by phase road to world dictatorship. As the professor states in the paper: "To be meaningful, the strategies should cover the time-span of several decades. Thirty-five to forty years seems a gook compromise between the need to give enough time to the postulated transformation and the uncertainties brought about by the lengthening of the time-span." The professor knew the political difficulties of such proposals being implemented (because free humanity tends to distrust any national government, let alone transnational government, to redistribute its well-earned wealth). He therefore proposes these measures to be implemented gradually, following a meticulously planned strategy. Sachs stressed the importance of incremental implementation. "Even if we know where we want to get, the operational question is how do we proceed to put humankind on the virtuous path of genuine development, socially responsible and in harmony with nature. It is submitted that UNCED 92 should give considerable attention to the formulation of transition strategies that could become the central piece of the Agenda 21."

The redistribution of wealth, Agenda 21, is what we have been hearing so much about the last few weeks. Oh, you thought it was about the Polar Bears. I will cheerfully pop that bubble for you, it is about controlling the peoples of the world by controlling the monies of the world. Did the idea of a Carbon Tax ever come up? The idea of levying a world tax on the use of the planet's resources is the crown jewel of the globalists.

Saving the Snail Darters, Soptted Owls and the Polar Bears and protecting the environment are worthy causes to which we can readily commit, but behind this beautiful mask of respectability and seeming virtue is an insidious monster intent on eating our children. The has-been politico, Algore, is frantically waving his arms and spouting fabricated science that the planet is in danger when the actual truth is the planet is doing just fine. The planet is doing what it has been doing for millions of years and will be fine long after we are gone. Global warming, you betcha. The water is gradually getting hotter and hotter. It is we the people who are in serious hot water. While we still have some life left in us we need to jump while we still can.

* The best definition of evil that I have ever heard is simply this: "Any use of personal or political power that dominates and manipulates the free will of the individual."

More Musings about Boiled Frogs

So what has that got to do with me? I don't know, maybe nothing. But let's look at some fairly recent current events. When we review the shootings at the Fort Hood Army Base we have no problem seeing the sudden unexpected change in the Army Major who decided to kill as many of his comrades a possible. But back up a minute, how sudden was it? His military record shows that throughout his career he had made many inflammatory and threatening remarks to colleagues. He had repeatedly received poor performance ratings. He openly condemned the actions of the Army and glorified the actions of Jihadists bomb throwers.

How did this happen? Throughout his military carrier he had made "little" remarks that had gone unnoticed and without any response by the Army. Why? I don't know, maybe we didn't want to hurt his self-esteem or maybe the Army took the path of least resistance and made excesses, covered it up and said, "that's just Husan being Husan." He fired over 100 shots before being stopped by a civilian police officer. How did this happen? I only have the reporters stories to go on and I wasn't there but we do know a few facts: 1, he was an active member of a sect that had declared war on the United States and on western culture, 2, this sect of cowardly barbarians have already attacked and killed thousands of United States citizens and 3. dozens witness his killing 17 and wounding 30 more unarmed defenders of our freedom. And still the elite media persists in referring to this coward as "the alleged shooter" and the civil liberties dweebs are scampering to see that he is treated fairly.

Will the army fall back into a contented stupor and continue to simmer in complacency? Didn't this happen before. Do we need to enlist the enemy to have interpreters? Don't we have anyone in the military bright enough to learn to speak whatever our enemy is speaking? During the cold War we certainly did. The Army language school at Fort Devin, MA. used to crank out soldiers with the language skills to be able to monitor our adversaries broadcasts.

Gradually, Incrementally, Our armed forces have been transformed into a "kinder gentler" army. Have we taken away their BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform) and replaced them with something more warm and fuzzy? Cultural diversity can be a great thing, our country was founded and built by people of diverse cultures. But we need to wake up from our comfortable stupor before it is too late and draw a few lines in the sand. Why can't our leaders figure out what seems to be crystal clear to most thinking folks? "You don't put a fox in the henhouse for a guard dog." We are faced with an enemy that has told us of their goal of Global Domination and how they intend on accomplishing that goal.

Our "alleged" enemies have laid out in detail how they intend to take over the world. Their plan is to infiltrate every level of society and attack us from within, kind of like a cancer. Our "alleged" enemies are boastful of their global progress. They are content to take small incremental steps to achieve their goals as long as they progress a little each day.

Turn the heat up gradually until the meat falls off the bones of the complacent fat frog.

Which Came First, The Blog or The Frog?

While many will quickly identify with the implications of the Boiled Frog title for this blog there are probably just as many are not familiar, as least not just yet, with the Boiled Frog phenomenon. The illustration of the boiled frog is frequently used to describe what behavioral psychologists call sensory adaptation or getting gradually accustomed to incremental changes.

If a frog is place in a pot of very hot water, it will instantly react and franticly try to get out. Now, if you put the frog into a pot of cool water and turn the heat on very low the frog will lay quietly. As the water heats up the frog will gradually adapt and calmly fall into a contented stupor, then become unconscious and eventually allow itself to be boiled to death.

Why didn't the frog try to escape the rising temperature of cooking pot? He was free to jump out. There was no barrier preventing him from finding his freedom. A big reason that the frog didn't jump is due to the fact his sensing capability is controlled by sudden or unexpected changes. As long as the increase in temperature are small incremental changes the frog won't identify them as a threat to his survival and a smiling, contented, and very dead frog has been slowly boiled alive.

I chose the name The Boiled Frog for this blog because I intend write my little rants and musings in the fervent hope that we can learn to think outside the cooking pot while there is still some life in the old frog. I don't pretend to know all the questions, let alone the answers. But I intend to keep asking questions like; who are we? How did we get here? and Where do we go from here?

Maybe the old frog has fallen into a contented stupor and is unconscious of its impending demise. Perhaps it is too far gone and all of our good intentions will accomplish nothing but frustration and anger. Maybe it is time to forget the old frog and concentrate our energies on the tadpoles.

Are We Alone? #7 Why Won't They Tell Us?

"Censorship reflects a society's lack of confidence in itself. It is the landmark of an authoritarian regime.... " Justice Potter Stewart

So, ok. Why won't they tell us the truth? Why is the government censoring all reports of the sightings of visitors. Why have all branches of the military made it a crime to discuss UFO information with unauthorized persons. Do they really think that we are frightened cattle that will panic and stampede? Are they afraid of losing some control? What if we the people started to believe that there was a power greater than our great wise leaders in Washington? Do our leaders think that we are ignorant peasants and that they are the aristocracy?

For decades we the people have been subjected to extreme censorship and bombarded with propaganda aimed at belittling and ridiculing anyone who claimed to have seen "little green men." There are stories of professional pilots whose careers have been destroyed by charges of intoxication or hallucinations on the job, only because they insisted that they had seen unidentified flying crafts. The government needed to send a message and soon the word got around that you needed to keep your mouth shut if you wanted to keep your job. This is the sort of censorship that existed under the Soviet domination of Russia and the control that despots and dictators have always wielded. It appears that no one was immune to the efforts to intimidate anyone who wished to challenge the official position and speak the truth about what they had observed.

One evening in 1969, two years before he became governor of Georgia, Jimmy Carter reported sighting a strange object in the evening sky. He and about twenty others watched it for about ten to twelve minutes. Carter states: "all of a sudden, one of the men looked up and said, 'Look, over in the west!' And there was a bright light in the sky. We all saw it. And then the light, it got closer and closer to us. And then it stopped, I don’t know how far away, but it stopped beyond the pine trees. And all of a sudden it changed color to blue, and then it changed to red, then back to white. And we were trying to figure out what in the world it could be, and then it receded into the distance" Mr. Carter later filed a report with the International UFO Bureau. This incident had such a personal impact on Carter that during his 1979 election campaign, he told reporters that he would institute a policy of openness if he were elected to office, saying: "One thing's for sure, I'll never make fun of people who say they've seen unidentified objects in the sky. If I become President, I'll make every piece of information this country has about UFO sightings available to the public and the scientists."

"The Central Intelligence Agency Owns everyone of any significance in the major media." William Colby, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

It makes you scratch your head and say, "hummm." And Jimmah was the Commander in Chief and he didn't follow through on a campaign promise, or perhaps it slipped his mind. I once saw something in the night sky that defied any reasonable explanation and the incident is still indelibly etched in my memory. But then I am not a peanut farmer who has been briefed by the CIA. Perhaps we have been misled into thinking that the president of the U.S. of A. is the most powerful man in the world.

An Aside: Anyone besides me remember when Jimmy Carter ran for the presidency? No one outside of Georgia had ever heard of him and even his own party made use of the "Jimmy Who" label. He wore blue jeans, a flannel shirt and was a common man, just like you and me. But, he had the something none of the other candidates had, the support of the elite media and defeated the incumbent and heir to the Watergate fiasco, President Gerald Ford. The interesting thing that I remember is that once he was elected, his advisers, (see: handlers/puppet masters) quickly got him out of his comfortable "man of the people" clothes and put him in a suit and tie. Not only that but he was convinced by his advisers that he would photograph better if he were to start parting his hair on the other side of his head as if to say "not only do we know what you are supposed to do and say, we will tell you how to dress and comb your hair." I imagine that as he looked in the mirror and attempted his new hair style that he finally woke up the reality that "we are all bozos on this bus", and he was just the current driver. But I digress ......

But don't despair, change is a comin', I know because they told me so. Since the beginning of 2008 there have been no less than six very secret meetings conducted by a committee of the United Nations. How do I know that? The ubiquitous unnamed source who always manages to leak anything that the "Bigs" don't want us to know, of course. They are feeling the pressure from the public to stop the cover-up and let us know the truth about UFOs and ETs. They are supposed to have discussed who will make the announcement, how the countries should respond to the visitors and how to share the new technologies with all the countries of the world. There is rumored to be a general consensus that the United States should take the lead in the announcement, ( A perfect job for our alien President) but India and China have reservations about such a disclosure. The stumbling block seems to be power and control. Who could have guessed?

"Lock up your libraries if you like, but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind." Virginia Woolf

Are We Alone, #6 Government Control of Information

"For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us. And there are thousands of witness reports and a quantity of documents to prove this, but nobody wants to make them public." Major Gordon Cooper, May 15, 1963

The very idea that the government official policy has been to steadfastly deny the existence of visitors from space and their insistence that the photographs and the sightings by trained observers are nothing more than weather balloons, swamp gas ,hallucinations, and the most ridiculous of all, birds, should be enough to convince even the most skeptical non-believer that we have had visitors from other worlds.

Although the study of unidentified flying objects had been ongoing for some time with Project Sign and Grudge, the increase of thousands of sightings in the early 50's prompted the government to begin a new and more "public" scientific investigation. The United States Air Force was assigned the task of a systematic study of UFOs. Project Blue Book was established in 1952 and their stated goals were:
1. To determine if UFOs were a threat to the national security, and
2. To scientifically analyze UFO-related data.

see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Blue_Book

By the time that Project Blue Book ended in January 1970, it had collected 12,618 reports and concluded that most were misidentifications of natural phenomena. Only about 6% were classified as unknowns and defying detailed analysis. The UFO reports are available under the Freedom of Information Act, but the names and personal information of the witnesses have been changed.

There have been many critics of the Project that have charged that the Blue Book was engaging in dubious research and even perpetuating a cover up of UFO evidence. The most damning criticism of Blue Book came from the only real scientist to ever serve on the Project, the astronomer, Dr. J. Allen Hynek. He worked on the project from its creation until it was abandoned. He is said to have started the project as a skeptic and left as a true believer. He wrote extensive criticism of the project, citing that the scientific inquiry was "grossly inadequate and faulty". He further stated that the basic attitude and approach of the Project was "illogical and unscientific". After leaving the project he became a UFO "activist" and had a cameo role in the Steven Spielberg movie, "Close Encounters of The Third Kind".
It appears that in 1952 our government had a real bad case of the heebie-jeebies over all of the UFO encounters. After much publicity, these sightings led the Central Intelligence Agency to establish a panel of scientists headed by Dr. H. P. Robertson, a physicist of the California Institute of Technology. In their final report they suggested debunkery through the mass media, including the Walt Disney Co, and using psychologists, astronomers and celebrities to ridicule the phenomenon and put forward prosaic explanations. Furthermore, civilian UFO groups "should be watched because of their potentially great influence on mass thinking." By the way, boys and girls, these are the same wizards that were going to get Castro with a loaded cigar. Anybody remember how that worked out for them?

In December 1953, Joint Army-Navy-Air Force Regulation number 146 made it a crime for military personnel to discuss classified UFO reports with unauthorized persons. Violators faced up to two years in prison and/or fines of up to $10,000.

In spite of the heavy government censorship, the NASA Astronaut Major Gordon Cooper testified before the United Nations: "I believe that these extra-terrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet form other planets ... Most astronauts were reluctant to discuss UFOs."

In a later interview Major Cooper was asked the reason for the secrecy and he said: " Why? Because authority is afraid that people may think of God knows what kind of horrible invaders. So the password still is: We have to avoid panic by all means."

Some of the most highly trained and imminently qualified observers in the world have reported sightings and encounters. Here are some of their names; Ed White, James McDivitt, James Lovell, Frank Borman, Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, Donald Slaton and NASA's Scott Carpenter. These men are all considered the best of the best and they have observed and filmed numerous sightings, both on near and outer space missions. Those pictures have never been released.

For the past Fifty or so years our Big Brother or Mother in the big white buildings have looked down from their high places and decided the we little folks can't stand a little truth. Perhaps that might explain a great deal of their behavior. I don't know about you but I have had enough of Disney characters telling me what to believe. No thanks, Goofy!

ARE WE ALONE? #5 Not Hardly!

"And I looked, and Behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of midst of the fire.
Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man." Ezekiel 1:4-5

UFO scholars believe that verse from the writings of the prophet Ezekiel, in the Old Testament to be the earliest written record of a UFO. There are many reference of visitors from the heavens in the Bible. When early man attempted to record these wonders they used the medium and descriptions with which they were familiar, "Flaming Wheels", "Chariots of Fire" and "Ships from the Sky" are a few. As long as man has been attempting to record important events in their life we find scores of references that could be interpreted as visits by ancient Astronauts; cave paintings in France, carving in Yucatan, and giant geoglyphs in the Andes. These geoglyphs are drawings in the ground measuring up to 300 meters long and can only be observed from the sky. There are hundreds of the mysterious figures scattered across the desert. They are believed to have been created by the Nazcan Culture between the 2nd century BC to 600 AD. Kind of makes you wonder if they had weather balloons and swamp gas too.

The acronym, UFO or Unidentified Flying Object was coined by the United States Air Force in 1952 after they had been tasked with the investigation of reported sightings. During the early 50"s there was a wave of UFO sightings. UFOs were seen around most of our military installations and unidentified flying objects made themselves known to the leaders of the free world in 1952 when thousands saw them flying in formation over the Capitol in Washington, D.C. They were picked up on radar at both the Washington National Airport and Andrews Air Force Base. Interceptor jets were scrambled but the crafts disappeared in a flash before they could make contact.

The early 50's saw the beginning of the first practical use of nuclear technology and ushered in profound changes in socio-political thinking and the development of new technology. This period saw the development of jets engines and aircraft started to routinely break the sound barrier. Major advances were being made in the field of guided missiles. Although the Cold war started at the end of World War II in 1945, by the early 50's the arms race between the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R. was heating up. Both countries were committed to building rockets that would reach space.

Maybe it is just a coincidence that the 50's marked the beginning of the Atomic Age, the Race for Space and the escalation of hostilities between the two world superpowers and the marked increased UFO activity. Probably just a coincidence, yah, right. Boy, do I have a deal for you, Swamp land in Nevada.

Our visitors have traveled unfathomable distances from their home worlds and in modern time there are no reliable records to suggest they have attempted to aid us or to interfere with our evolutionary progress or regress, as the case may be. Their mission seems to be one of study and observation. In spite of our repeated attempts to shoot them down, there are no public records of our visitors retaliating with hostile action. They just kick it into Hyper-drive and leave like Hans Solo.

Don't you imagine that our visitors knew before they left their homes to come here to observe us, who we were, what we were about and perhaps were concerned for us in the same way an older brother might be for a toddler sibling that had gotten his hands on a loaded shotgun. I don't know, just wondering.

Are We Alone? #4 Visitors from other worlds

If we consider the information we have today about the Grand Universe, it is reasonable to assume that intelligent life would have developed on other worlds. With an open mind, we can easily imagine worlds similar to ours, teeming with infinitely diverse forms of life, and surely some of those critters walk upright on their hind legs and think and build and love. They must look at the sky and wonder too.

The idea that we are not alone in the cosmos is not a new idea and the belief that we are often visited by travelers and messengers from the heavens were the part of legends and folk lore of most of the great civilizations. The gods of Greek mythology were believed to have descended from the heavens to rule and much of their advanced culture was attributed to these gods. The Greek thinkers are considered to be the originators of modern philosophical thought.

Most of the great cultures of the world have legends of gods from the heavens. Consider the great pyramid of Egypt, the most architecturally perfect building on the planet. The builders and designers of the pyramids had to possess advanced knowledge of the cosmos and of the Earth's relation to the Sun. Their use and understanding of mathematics had to be far superior to anything believed to exist in the world at that time. When asked how that all came about, the scholars and scientists scratch their heads again and admit "we just don't know." (There is way too much fascinating data regarding the Great Pyramid to touch on now. A later post perhaps? This video clip has some interesting facts about the only remaining wonder of the ancient world. http://www.europa.com/~edge/pyramid.html )

I have never liked math much but consider this; The Great Pyramid was completed somewhere around 2540 BC. The exterior facing stones were about 100 inches thick and weighed about 20 tons, that's all you can haul on an eighteen wheeler. One side of this giant block of hard limestone was beveled to 51 degrees, 51 minutes and then polished to a mirror finish. The Chaldeans of Babylon are considered by most to be the originators of modern math. The Greek astronomer Hipparchus didn't devised the first trigonometric tables until somewhere around 147 to 127 BC. Then in 1687 AD, Isaac Newton is credited with the development of calculus.

Again I ask, How did they do that? Don't tell me that they were stuck with the wheel and a swarm of Jewish slaves. That just won't fly in the face of my reason.

The mysteries that surround the Mexican Pyramids are equally baffling. The builders had a deep understanding of our solar system and recorded the planets with relationship to the sun. They devised a 52 year calendar that is accurate comparable to the atomic clock. Many experts in the study of ancient cultures have suggested they had the help of "Ancient Astronauts". The following link is to a video clip from the History Channel that explores that theme.

If the scientists and scholars can't come up with an answers after countless thousands of hours of study then we are at least qualified to wonder and to speculate that maybe we are not alone but have often been visited down through the ages.

Are We Alone? #3: State Controlled Information

"Does not the Goldfish think that he is the center of the Universe?"

The heavens have been a source of fascination and mystery since the first homo sapiens looked up at the night sky. The ancients used the stars to explain their world by the movement of the constellations. The shamans plotted the constellations of the Zodiac and believed that they could foretell future events. The wise men studied the night sky and made charts that helped them to navigate and to explore new lands and then to find their way back home. For centuries this accumulated knowledge was controlled by shamans and high priests. If the clan leader or the spiritual leaders said that the world was flat and that Earth was the center of the universe, then that was the final word and to question that position often resulted in a painful death.

The control over scientific information by the Church was so powerful and complete that the astronomer Nicolas Copernicus refused to allow the results of his work to be published until after his death in 1543. Copernicus was the first astronomer to formulate a comprehensive cosmology which placed the Sun at the center of the universe instead of the Earth. Despite the urging of his close friends and associates, he resisted openly publishing his views, not wishing to expose himself to the risk of scorn by his peers and sanction by the church. His published works paved the way for Galileo, considered by most to be "the Father of Modern Science." During the Roman Inquisition Galileo's work was condemned by the Catholic Church as "false and contrary to Scripture" and he was warned to abandon his support for it. In 1632 Galileo was tried by the Inquisition and found "vehemently suspect of heresy," and forced to recant. He was forced to spent the rest of his life under house arrest.

Before brave new concepts of our world and our place in the universe can be accepted, a whole lot of evolution must take place. (I really have a difficult time accepting people who refuse to evolve, but that is a subject for another blog.) We have had to go from primitive awe of the night sky and "knowing beyond any doubt" that the stars revolved around earth to understanding that our world revolved around the sun.

Our combined general knowledge is said to double every five years. Computer science is believed to double every 18 months and before the warranty runs out your new device will be obsolete. Countries that once were thought to be "backward" are becoming leaders in increasing the reservoir of human knowledge. China and India are committing a larger percentage of their new found wealth to research and development. Scientists and Astronomers around the world are collaborating and the mass of information is increasing exponentially. Society can no longer ignore the elephant in the corner of the room.

Now, scientists and society are again struggling with a paradigm shift. The respected National Geographic magazine is asking us to consider, not the possibility, but the probability that we are not alone in the Grand Universe.

In the past, if the Emperor or the Pope didn't like the message they killed the messenger. Will our modern emperors, shamans and wise men accept the answers?

Hemlock, anyone?

Are We Alone? Part 2 The Micro and Macro

"He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them by their names." Psalm 147:4

When we turn our attention to our own world, we find that there is hardly a square inch of the planet that is not teeming with life. In the frozen desolation of the north and south poles we find plant and animal life. As the scientists devise new and more powerful instruments our knowledge of the physical world has vastly increased every few years. At the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean's Mariana Trench, the submersible, the Challenger Deep found simple celled life at 36,201 feet below the surface, that's over seven miles below sea level, folks.. The Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) is able to record images of individual bacteria and it is estimated that 50 million bacteria live on the average square centimeter of human skin.

"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered" Matthew 10:30

With each year that passes scientist are able to probe deeper and deeper into the heavens and the astronomers are continually revising their estimates as to the size of the universe. It is believed that our own galaxy, the Milky Way, contains around a 100 billion stars. And that is just for starters. The Hubble Deep Field observations reported the discovery and recording of about 3000 new galaxies. That number starts to be more impressive when the field observed is a small patch of the sky and it would require 27,000,000 such patches to cover the whole sky. It is estimated that there are 100 billion Milky Way like galaxies. This would place the number of stars at ten billion trillion. If you want to do the math, that's 22 zeros.

As we expand our knowledge of the vastness cosmos and increase our understanding of the world on which we live, it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore the probabilities of intelligent life on other worlds. Even if we accept the idea that the infinite vastness of the grand universe were the result of some freak accident or a chance Big Bang, and that all life on Earth just happened, without design or plan, the laws of probability would demand life on other planets.

I am not capable of truly understanding the unknowable or knowing the exact nature of the original cause for the ever expanding universe nor do I give a flip as to what others believe. However, my reason demands that I believe that there is Good Orderly Direction in the evolving universe. From the infinitely small to the infinity of the heavens there seems to be a coherent structure and evidence of creative order and design. I do believe that a Supreme Being is the cause of all causes and the Creator of this and more that we can possibly imagine. But since the scientists need proof, they are still scratching their collective head and saying "we don't know", "we think that it might" and "we need more data".

I was taught that the world was created in six days and then God rested on the Seventh. As a child this bothered me. If he is God, why does he need to rest? and what did he do on the eighth, ninth and tenth days? What has he done since then? I could not understand an all powerful Creator that put world in motion and then just rested on his throne. As I learned more about our solar system and that the stars in the night sky were also suns, I came to believe that surely God had plans for the rest of the universe too.

When I was 14 I got my hands of a couple of books about UFO's and I was totally convinced that we were not alone in the universe and that the Creator had placed thousands of Adam and Eves throughout the universe and that Creation was still in progress.

Are We Alone?

A few weeks ago I took the December issue of National Geographic out of the mailbox and as I walked back to the house, I slipped the protective sleeve off and read the cover; "Are We Alone? Searching the Heavens for another Earth". I half way thought that there might be some new and revelatory information and at my first opportunity I read the article. In typical National Geographic style there were several fold out pages of Hubble Space telescope computer enhanced composite photos of the heavens and of artist representation of what the astronomers think that they have seen, complete with charts, picture graphs and strings of numbers with lots of zeros. This was followed by a two and a quarter page article that told me the astronomers have seen lots of real shiny things way far, far away and that the universe is much larger than they ever imagined. The author, Timothy Ferris, summed up his article with this one sentence; "We believe that billions of such planets must exist and that they hold the promise of expanding not only the scope of human knowledge but also the richness of the human imagination."

The National Geo author has asked the question, "Are We Alone?" and then kinda-sorta answers the question with "Probably not." Well, Duh! I don't even own a telescope and I could have told you that.

The idea that we are not alone in the universe is no longer the exclusive stock of science fiction and the fantasy of UFO enthusiasts but are now the topic of articles in the National Geographic on our coffee tables. While the modern astronomers do not have proof that there are other Earth like worlds, they are no longer willing to ignore the probabilities that such worlds surely must exist. Scientists have no proof that there is life on other worlds but are busy trying to find scientific evidence to support their growing belief that other forms of life surely must exist. Billions of tax dollars have been spent to send numerous probes to the moon and to Mars to find evidence of life or at least that conditions were once favorable to support life as we know it.

I find it hard to imagine that our Creator placed the billions of stars and galaxies in the heavens for our night time enjoyment. With the each new telescope and astronomical observatory the astronomers are only beginning to understand the infinite vastness of the Grand Universe.
Although the article in the National Geographic didn't show the location of our nearest neighbors or give conclusive proof that we are not alone, the author did offer the encouraging words, "We believe that billions of such planets must exist and that they hold the promise of expanding not only the scope of human knowledge but also the richness of the human imagination."

Just imagine! Billions of earth like planets where there is surely life and perhaps intelligent beings that might be as smart as us, imagine that!
