New Year's Resolutions I Won't Keep

To start the new year I had planned to write a light note about New Year's Resolutions that I intended not to keep. As I started on this light hearted list, I wrote down; "I resolve to be more supportive of our acting President". This is gonna be easy, I thought. I can think of lots of resolutions that I won't try too hard to respect. "I will eat less pork", "No more coffee", "I will not pass gas when anyone is in the room", "I will eat only healthy foods". I thought I could have some fun with this topic after all the heavy preceding posts.

But alas, it was not to be. Before the day was out I was hung up on the first resolution, the one about supporting the "acting president". The cartoon popped into my head and I was forced to DVR the rest of the Rose Bowl game so I could draw it.

How can I possibly support an inept chief executive who repeatedly shown where his loyalties lie. He has appointed the largest gaggle of socialists to be assembled since the days of the Joe McCarthy hearings.

His appointee to head the vast agency that is responsible for protecting our borders and our skies from "human caused unfortunate incidents", Mz. Janet Napolitano thinks the system works. She later tried to re-state her earlier remarks, but who really cares what she says. The system failed.

The only thing that saved the 300 or so passengers on the Northwest Airlines Flight from Amsterdam to Detroit, MI. was a failed detonator in the Islamic fanatic's drawers and alert passengers who took him down.

So that's one resolution down. It's ok, my heart wasn't really in it. I can't help but wonder how long before the Dem's start to admit that they have been hosed and kick him to the curb. One can wish, can't they?
